For "The Idiom Challenge" by SlytherinPrincessxXx.
My idiom (as you can probably tell) is 'The ball is in your court'
Enjoy! :)
"So Moony, what's your favourite colour?" asked Sirius randomly.
"Blue. Why do you ask?"
"I was just wondering, you ask me a question."
"Ok, what's your favourite book?" Remus asked.
"I don't read, you know that! Ask me another one..." demanded Sirius.
"No Sirius, the ball is in your court."
"The what is in my what?" Sirius exclaimed, confused.
"The ball is in your court. It's an idiom. It means it's your turn." Remus rolled his eyes.
"Oh, fine. Where would you like to live?"
"Fiji."
"Nice. The ball is now in your court," Sirius grinned at his friend.
"Right. Have you ever been in love?"
"Yes," Sirius replied. "Have you?"
"Yes," Remus answered. "If you could speak any language, what would it be?"
"Lithuanian."
"That's a bit random," Remus said. "The ball is in your court now."
"Are you still in love with someone?" Sirius asked.
"Uh-huh," Remus replied carefully. "Are you?"
"Yep."
"The ball's in your court again," Remus prompted.
"Oh yeah, silly me," Sirius said. "Ok, who are you in love with?"
"Someone," Remus answered.
"Someone isn't good enough," Sirius objected.
"You asked the question, I answered," Remus stated. "What is the name of the person you're in love with?"
"Remus," said Sirius, smiling. Remus blinked.
"Really?"
"Was that your question?" Sirius winked.
"Was that yours?" Remus challenged.
"Yes, now the ball is in your court," said Sirius.
"Do you really love me?"
"Yes, Moony. More than anything." Sirius answered. Remus smiled at him. "What is the name of the person you're in love with?"
"...Sirius," Remus said shyly, looking into Sirius's eyes. "The ball is in your court."
"What would you do if I kissed you?"
"Kiss you back," Remus said, turning pink at the thought.
"The ball is in your court, Moony," said Sirius.
"Will you kiss me, Padfoot?"
Sirius's answer was unspoken; a passionate kiss.
Couldn't think of much else for this fic. Hope it's alright :)
