Lost Hat
"Phil! Phil, I can't find it!"
"What?" Phil called after a short pause, tearing his eyes away from his dashboard as it refreshed agonizingly slowly.
"I can't find it anywhere!" Dan moaned, tripping up the stairs. He burst through Phil's door, huffing and puffing from the exercise.
"Can't find what?" Phil asked, rolling over on his bed and pushing his computer away.
"My llama hat!" Dan replied, wrinkling his forehead in distress. He sat on the edge of the bed and bounced distractedly. Gently pulling at Phil's vibrant sock-covered toes, Dan whined, "Come on, Phil. You have to help me find it. I need it for a video. I swore I had left it on the sofa the other night…"
Smiling slightly in remembrance of the cuddling session whilst watching a movie a few days before, Phil sat up slowly and placed his computer on the spot where he had previously been lying on his back.
"Alright, Dan. I'll help you look," Phil promised.
Wasting no time, Dan hopped back up and raced to the door. "I'll check downstairs if you check on this level!" he called, shutting the door behind him before he had even finished speaking.
With a sigh, Phil slid off his bed and sat on the floor, pulling his computer down with him and opening up Tumblr again. Quickly getting sucked in, he didn't immediately notice when Dan stomped back in.
"Phil! What are you doing?" Dan demanded, looking irritated. "I thought you were supposed to be helping me look!"
Phil swiftly shut the laptop. "Oh, sorry! I just got distracted."
"Come on, Phil," Dan said exasperatedly, climbing over the bed to tug on Phil's arm. As he crawled over the mattress, Dan felt a lump in the duvet, and lifted it up to see if it was another clump of dirty socks.
Dan's jaw dropped. "PHIL. You had my hat in your bed. What the hell!"
Phil looked up from his seat on the floor, widening his eyes and trying to look as innocent as possible. "Dan, the thing is…" he climbed up and slid his legs under the covers, wrapping his arms around Dan's waist and leaning into his chest. "I really just wanted to get you in my bed."
Glaring down at Phil's bent head, Dan struggled to stay grumpy with his best friend, but all hope was lost when Phil looked up and tried a seductive wink but got bed fluff in his eye. Dan burst into laughter, tugging the duvet over himself as well.
"You didn't need to take my hat to get me in here…I'm more than happy to come in any time."
Rubbing his eye and grinning sheepishly, Phil replied, "I was afraid you'd say no. You seem a bit stressed, darling," At these words, Phil's face fell a bit.
"Well," Dan began with a smirk, "I think that the video can wait…but there are some things that can't."
Smile returning, Phil looped the llama hat around Dan's neck and pulled his face down for a kiss.
