My name is Annabeth Chase, I'm a half-blood. You know, a daughter of a deity. My mom is Athena, my dad's an admirer. Last time you read anything about me, you were reading lies. All that Heroes of Olympus garbage? That's what they wanted you to think, what actually happened was much tamer-or, at least, it seems so now. Sorry to burst all your bubbles, but poor Rick couldn't learn what happened after the Titan War, so he made some stuff up. Some of his ideas were cool, I will admit, but they didn't fit as well as the story he wrote of my boyfriend. So, let me tell you what really happened after Percy looked back at me for that last time...

It had been three months, I had just returned to camp and Percy was sword fighting with this Hephaestus kid called Jeremy Connors. The big guy was doing pretty well until Percy called upon a hurricane that blasted him off his feet. I looked at Percy, something seemed wrong. He smiled easily enough, but the smile didn't quite reach his eyes. I'm really good at reading body language like that-I'm also good at knowing when Percy won't want to talk about it. I should have asked then. I looked around, Wow! I thought, the place seems nearly deserted. Aside from myself, Percy, and Jeremy, the camp seemed nearly empty-even the Hermes cabin, which by the way, I avoid like the plague-too many memories...
A few days passed, and me and Percy talked very little to each other. I knew something was up and even asked him what, but he just mumbled excuses and ran off. Not a very good start to this year.

The night air was chilly and the ground frozen, Thalia kept her bow ready as the howling drew closer. Strange creatures were roaming D.C. as though they belonged there. Even through the mist, the mortals could feel something was up. Thalia had seen one from a distance- a strange black monster with tentacles for hair as they crawled four-footed across the ground. A nightmare in and of itself, but Thalia was used to nightmares-she slept through them every night. "The hunt continues." She says under her breath before fitting an arrow to the string. Thalia Grace faded into the grey shadows that surrounded the once bright city. A scream sounded in the artificial night-female by the sound of it. "My only lead, I will not fail you my lady."
