Don't frown, even when you're upset, because you never know who's falling in love with your smile.
Sonny Munroe was always smiling. That smile almost never seemed to fade. It was her signature: that wide, toothy grin.
And Chad loved it.
Chad thought the world of it. It was the smile that was flashing in his head during the day; the same one that was haunting him when he couldn't sleep at night. And truth be told, Chad was happy it was.
That was, until one day Sonny stopped wearing it.
She marched into the cafeteria, a frown on her face, and her eyes glaring at everything she passed. This was not the Sonny Munroe Chad knew. So, with confidence, he walked up to Sonny. "Trouble at Chuckle City, Sonny?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I guess you could say that," Sonny groaned, sitting down and laying her head in her hands. "Grady and Nico are fighting, Zora won't come out of the vents, and Tawni is so self-absorbed with the mirror that no one will rehearse! And our ratings are down!" she rambled.
"Oh, is that so?" Chad smirked, then mentally slapped himself when Sonny's frown deepened.
"Chad! You always have to be such a jerk!" she complained. "I shouldn't even have told you that; you'll probably just make fun of me for it." She groaned before standing up and stomping out of the cafeteria.
Later that day, Sonny was at home, watching TV, when a knock on the door disturbed her. She stood up, still frowning, to answer the door. "Hello?" a man asked when she opened the door.
"Can I help you?" she asked.
"Does a Allison 'Sonny' Munroe live here?" Sonny nodded.
"That's me," she replied, and he handed her a bouquet of sunflowers before walking away. She shut the door before reading the card that was cradled in between the flowers.
Don't frown, even when you're upset, because you never know who's falling in love with your smile.
