It was a quiet night at Xavier's Mansion, everyone was doing their own thing, the teachers were marking work while the students were either in bed or relaxing in different parts of the house.
"Hey mind if I come in?" asked Bobby peering into Jamie's room. Jamie was sitting on his bed watching TV and at the same time writing in a note pad on his desk. "Yeah come in" said the Jamie sitting on the bed.
As Bobby walked into the room the Jamie writing in the note pad walked over to the one and the bed and two became one. "You okay?" asked Jamie who had no switched off the TV that was on the wall. "Yeah fine, you? " Bobby replied.
"Yeah" he replied, an awkward silence fell through the room. "Jamie I have something to talk to you about" said Bobby more nervous than he had intended. "Yeah sure what is it?" said Jamie smiling awkwardly at Bobby. "well I really Li…" Bobby was cut off by an ear piercing scream.
The pair ran from the room and gathered in the living room, there they were met by the other New Recruits; the older students had gone camping. "who screamed?" asked Bobby. Half asleep yet more panicked it took the group a few seconds to reply. "It sounded like Rahne." Said Amara. As the words left Amara's mouth Rahne came running into the room in her wolf form turning swiftly back into a human.
"There's someone breaking in" said Rahne, gathering her breath. "Who?" asked Amara. "Blob" she said in a defeated voice. "Should we wake Logan and Scott?" asked Jamie in a panicked voice. "There's no time" said Amara now on fire and fireballs in her hands. "It's okay" Bobby whispered into Jamie's ear.
The door swung of its hinges and blob stepped into the room. Rahne was the first to act growing wolf claws and teeth she leapt into the air clawing at The Blobs face. With a swoop of his meaty hand he tossed her across the room. Bobby shot ice across the room that caught her and slid her gently to the floor.
"You fat ugly…" started Amara shooting fire at the massively over weight foe that stood in her home. Sadly the fire didn't seem to hurt him like it should. He took off running for Jamie. One hand in the air ready to punch him. "Get away" yelled Bobby shooting ice at The Blob freezing him fully. "Thanks" said Jamie throwing his arms around Bobby.
They hugged momentarily then separated and then both blushed. "What the hell is going on in here?" asked Jean levitating into the room. "It's the Blob he attacked us" Amara explained. "Why?" she asked stepping closer to the group. "No idea" said Rahne. "Well he's not staying any longer" said Jean raising one hand to her head The Blob shot of out the door and over the fence; still frozen.
"Okay I think we should all go to bed" Said Jean floating out the room and up the stairs. In several long moments the others left the room leaving only Jamie and Bobby. "What a night" said Bobby, Jamie laughed. "What did you have to tell me?" said Jamie, who hadn't stopped thinking about what it could be all through the battle. "Just that I like you." Said Bobby now more confident. "I like you two you're a good friend" Replied Jamie.
They were now walking to the boys dorm. Once outside Jamie's door, "I didn't mean as a friend, well I do but a bit more." Spurted out Bobby regretting it as soon as he said it. "I know what you meant." Said Jamie with a smirk. "Oh" sighed Bobby. He was just about to turn away when Jamie grabbed his hand. "I like you the same way" Jamie said gazing into Bobby's eyes which got closer and closer as their lips touched for what seemed like forever.
Bobby walked away in silence a smile ear to ear on his face. Jamie Blew out ice from his mouth smiled and entered his bedroom very happy.
