A/N: New idea! Haha actually it's not that new, but I wanted to post it to see how you guys would like it and if I should continue it. It's before Twilight, don't get confused.

Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight.

Emily's POV

I stood in front of my bedroom mirror, the sun reflecting off the surface into my eyes. I glared back at my reflection. My normally straight hair was currently resembling a tumbleweed. Twenty full minutes with every hair product I owned and nothing!

Normally, I wouldn't fuss this much over my hair, but I was going to see my cousins, Leah and Seth, in La Push. Leah was going to introduce me to her boyfriend Sam; who she said had some cute friends.

After another minute, I gave in. I stomped over to my closet. In the very back, on the very top shelf, was a box covered in ripped wrapping paper. Leah had given me a straightener for my birthday...I wasn't pleased. I had thrown it up there the second she left; I regret that now.

Standing on a rickety old chair, I stretched up on my tippy toes reaching for the box. But of course, the box refused to come within my grasp. With a grunt of frustration, I lunged.

The box was in my hands...until gravity took over.

The box slipped from my fingers as I fell to the ground. I landed on my stomach, the air knocked out of my lungs. And obviously, the box ending up hitting me in the head.

Suddenly, meeting Leah's boyfriend and friends didn't sound that good.

With a sigh, I got up and set off the fix my hair, burning my hand in the process. Could this day get any worse?

Now I realize how wrong I was.

A/N: So whatcha think about that prologue? Kinda different right? Well let me just say: stick with the story, it's gonna go places that most people would've never thought of.
