Title: 4L4Y!
Dino went to Indonesia two weeks ago.
In the afternoon, Hibari Kyoya just lay on the couch as he opened his cell phone. Two weeks ago, Dino went to Indonesia to form an alliance against the mafia in Indonesia, Kolor Ijo Famiglia (In English: Green Boxer Famiglia). Dino promised that he would teach Hibari about Indonesia culture.
"Hibari ~ Hibari~" Hibird humming saw his master tried to find another Indonesian cultural trend in the handphone.
There is one website that makes Hibari interested. 4L4Y trend. Four-L-Four-Y? Trend? Oh well, unique and whimsical word. Then, Hibari reading the website that tells about 4L4Y trend in Indonesia.
4L4Y (read: Alay /i-l-i-y/) is a pop culture phenomenon in Indonesia. It's a stereotype describing something "tacky" and "cheesy" (norak or kampungan only in Indonesia). Then Alay culture phenomena spans over a wide array of style in music, dress, and messaging. Although the former emerged much later and the latter was even admired.
Alay text is a form of the Indonesia language that has undergone "excessive let transformation." Contrary to the popular belief that is "destroying" the national language, grammatical standard are met in contrast to the modern Indonesian slang language.
Alay text may have originated from method of making strong password for internet accounts. This requires combination of small and capital letters, number as well as special characters. Normally, to keep the password meaningful and easy to remember, the password would consist of normal word, where some letters are capitalized or substituted with numbers.
Confusing text that could not be understood properly and probably has no meaning (except for the writer). Is also conspired as alay text too. This type of text usually contain information of the writer's mood and feeling, it's also common for the text to contain the writer's own philosophy on a certain topic such as: Love, heart break, and relationship.
"Then, where's an example?" Hibari said before his phone rings with Namimori anthems.
Oh, an e-mail from Dino. Hibari go directly to the e-mail.
