Q is for Quaalude
Methaqualone[, commonly known as Mandrax or as Quaaludes,] is a sedative drug that is similar in effect to barbiturates, a general CNS [Central Nervous System] depressant.
Depressing work tonight. Not much happening at the club today. Not much at all. Daddy Godwin hadn't let in many customers that night. Shame, really, so many of the members had been raring to go that night...
Quaaludes became increasingly popular as a recreational drug in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The drug was used during sexual activity because of heightened sensitivity coupled with relaxation and euphoria.
There wasn't much else to do except lude out with the group, shooting coy eyes at each other (after sending away the young twins, after all, they were too young for this-Yuusei insisted. They may have been Daddy Godwin's charges, but he was the real parent towards those two-nobody contested that. The lighting technician wouldn't even consider letting those two into the "real business" until they were of age.). It was common for them to brush their fingers over each other in alluring and arousing gestures, enjoying the sensations heightened by the drug, wanting more than just to touch...
Smoking methaqualone, either alone or as an adulterant added to various legal and illegal smoking mixtures, gained popularity in the United States during the mid-1970s. When smoked, methaqualone gives the user an immediate trance-like euphoria that quickly wears off.
Jack took up a joint, along with one of the pills on the table. Smoking both, he felt himself lift up, free as anything. Everything was glossed over and beautiful, sparkling, heavenly. Reaching over and grabbing Yuusei by the shoulders, he growled lightly as he nipped at the other's ear, drawing a shocked gasp from the technician, and lighthearted scolding from the others-they were still on call, even if no one had come. It wouldn't do for a customer to find his purchases playing with each other, after all.
There would be plenty of time later for playing.
