You're at my front door after a week apart while you we're in Glasgow, I don't even know why I let you leave. I guess I needed time to figure out what I'm doing. It makes me so happy when you turn up out of the blue like this. Our relationship may have changed and we may still be friends but that's until I tell you the truth and then no matter what your reaction, this will change. We knew this friends with benefits thing couldn't last for long and it won't but for now I'll let things happen like usual and tell you before you leave and hope to God that its the same for you and that you'll stay the whole night.
"Sandra? Are you okay?" Gerry asked as they lay in bed, their breathing beginning to even out again.
"I'm fine Gerry."
"Right well that was lovely but I'll get out of your hair now."
"No. Don't go, not yet anyway."
"Okay. I thought you'd want me to go, you never seem to want me to stay afterwards."
"I do. I didn't think you wanted to know after I'd served my purpose."
"Is that what you think this is?"
"That's generally what friends with benefits are. Listen now..." She started as she sat up in bed pilling the duvet with her while Gerry moved the hair away from her eyes. "It was hell while you were away and it made me think..."
"Awh, miss me that much did you?"
"Yeah yeah. Now shut up and listen. I don't want to be friends who sleep together once or twice a week anymore." She looked down to see his reaction only to see his face had completely dropped and now she knew this was make or break time. "I want to be the one that you curl up with on the sofa on winter nights watching rubbish tv. I want to be the one who you're proud to have on your arm but most of all I want to be the only one you sleep with. I love you."
"You have that last thing already, since I've been with you I've never even thought of anyone else that was let alone slept with anyone. God you're soppy Sandra when you want to be." He said as he pulled her back into his arms. "You could have had all of that years ago, all you'd have had to do was say the word. I've loved you for years. I honestly thought I was going to lose you before and I couldn't cope with that. I want everything you just said." He told her lovingly.
"Yeah well I wasn't aware I felt that way about you before."
"No point dwelling on that now, all that matters is that I love you. Now you look exhausted honey, I think it's time you went to sleep. I'm not going anywhere unless you want me to."
"I don't want you to but call me honey again and you'll be in a shallow grave somewhere."
"And where's that exactly?" He asked curiously.
"I can't tell you that otherwise you'd find the bodies of the other men who thought it acceptable to call me an affectionate pet name."
"That many eh?"
"You'll find out if you ever call me honey again." He laughed before kissing her again and it was now obvious the relationship had yet again changed.
