She's alone and terrified, but she's the only one left to take care of her children so she forces herself to carry on. Moving away from the place she'd called home, from the place where her children were born, is heart wrenching, but it is the only way to ensure that Ariana can be hidden away from the Ministry of Magic.

If they find out about her instability, they will take her away, and Kendra will not allow that to happen under any circumstances. If she stays in her current home, there is no telling when she will get unexpected visitors. If anyone discovers...

She cannot allow it to happen.

Living alone with three children is difficult, and many a night, she lies in her bed, her eyes on the ceiling as her tears soak through the pillow she rests her head on. She misses Percival like she would miss a limb, and she would do anything to be able to turn back time and stop the whole nightmare from becoming her reality. She just wants her life back.

Albus and Aberforth; they try and help. They do, and she is grateful, but they are both busy at school, with all the regular things that young boys are supposed to worry about. For the most part, it is just Kendra and Ariana, and it can be a struggle to keep her head above water.

Ariana is loving and caring most of the time. It hurts Kendra to see her beautiful little girl living anything but the most perfect life, but she cannot change what happened. Ariana's temper can be sparked by the oddest things, and the constant wait for an outburst takes it's toll on Kendra. She knows that she's sharper and colder than she's ever been before, but it is to protect her family.

She cannot afford to allow people in anymore.

She cannot let her guard down for a second.

Ariana is fourteen when it finally happens. Kendra wasn't expecting the sudden blast of magic, and it hits her before she can defend herself against it. She falls in slow motion, her life flashing before her eyes as she hits the ground. She is mildly surprised that the impact doesn't hurt. It's like her body has died before her soul had a chance to catch up.

Her poor daughter is distraught, even as Albus and Aberforth appear in the room, their eyes widening with shock as they take in the scene. Kendra wishes she could tell Ariana that it wasn't her fault. She wishes she could tell Albus and Aberforth that she's proud of them, that she knows that they can do great things, that she will be watching over all of them, but her lips are impossible to move.

The scene before her eyes fades slowly to black, and she feels like shes floating.

It's freeing.

She can finally relax.

She wishes she can tell her children that she loves them.
