A Clace story
Clary POV
I hug and kiss my boyfriend Jace at the airport. He is about to go on his second deployment, this time to Afghanistan. After I let go, he walks with the other soldiers in their Air Force uniforms onto the plane. He waves goodbye to me. I smile and wave back, with tears streaming down my face the entire time.
8 months later
I am really nervous, Jace is coming home in a month. I fold my hands over my swollen belly, still figuring out how to tell Jace that I am pregnant. I call my best friends Tessa and Izzy and we all decide to go to Taki's for lunch. We sit in our usual booth and order our usual stuff. After we finish eating, I noticed that the restaurant got very quiet. I looked at Tessa and Izzy. They both smiled and Tessa made a twirling motion with her finger. I turned and screamed. There was Jace, still in his uniform. I jumped up and flew into his arms, sobbing my eyes out. I wiped my eyes and looked at Jace. He looked curious. I sniffled, smiled and told him the news.
"Jace, I'm pregnant." He froze for a second before breaking into a huge grin and sweeping me around in a circle and kissing me. Everyone else clapped and I knew that I wasn't dreaming.
Jace POV
I walk into Taki's after getting a message from Izzy saying where they were. I open the door, still in my uniform. I came straight from the airport, not bothering to change. I head towards the back, hearing conversations stop as I make my way to them. I stop when I see Clary's red hair. I am spotted by Izzy and Tessa, who smile. Clary must have noticed that people stopped talking. Tessa makes a turning motion. I breathe in. She turns and screams when she sees me. She jumps into my arms crying with happiness. After a bit, she wipes her eyes and looks at me, I get confused, why did she let go? She sniffled and smiled. The next words she said changed my life forever.
"Jace," she said, "I'm pregnant." I froze, sinking in what she just said. It takes me less than a second to realize that I am going to be a father. To Clary's child. I quickly look at her and see her swollen belly. I smile and sweep her off her feet in a circle. I set her down and kiss her. I wrap my arms around her and hear the cheering and clapping from the rest of the people. I am finally home.
