Sirius watched her. Her long blonde hair fell in loose curls down her back. Her silver eyes seemed to stare all too knowingly at everyone and everything, like she knew something that no one else did.

She fascinated him. She was a Ravenclaw, but he knew she could probably fit into any house. She was ambitious like a Slytherin, loyal like a Hufflepuff, and brave like a Gryffindor.

He wanted her. He wanted to hold her, and kiss her, and make her his. Unfortunately, she seemed to be permanently attached to two others, both Slytherins: Barty and Regulus.

Sirius' eyes narrowed when he saw Regulus sneak up behind her and wrap his arms around her waist, pulling her close.

Instead of stiffening due to fear or surprise, she leaned back against him and smiled happily. She laughed and the joyous sound sent Sirius' heart racing.

He continued to watch as Barty joined the pair of them. He first kissed Regulus on the lips, a soft peck, and then he kissed Luna. The kisses seemed to be equal in intensity.

Sirius wondered how Luna could stand being with two guys at the same time, not to mention they were both slimy snakes. He didn't understand why she wanted either Regulus or Barty. Sirius had made his interest in her known quite loudly, but still, she chose the other two and there was no way they could compare to him.

Two days later, he finally managed to get her alone. He cornered her, but she didn't look scared, and that made him want her even more. He loved girls that had fire. He leaned down so his lips were close to hers. "We could be great together."

Luna narrowed her eyes. "I have something great already."

"What Regulus? Crouch? There's no way you actually prefer them over me!"

She crossed her arms over her chest. "You sure are full of yourself. Regulus and Barty own my heart, and neither of them will be giving it up anytime soon."

She moved to walk away, but Sirius grabbed her hand. "I was being nice by giving you a choice. I can always take what I want," he threatened.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "There were rumors about you, but I never thought they were true. You accuse your family of being evil and dark. You're no better than the ones you claim to despise so much. And if you don't let go of my arm right now, I'll—"

"You'll what?" Sirius snarled furiously. He was not as bad as his family. He would never support the rising evil Dark Lord after all.

"She doesn't need our protection, but we will make sure you never touch her again," Regulus interrupted.

Barty glared. "Let her go, or answer to our wands. You're brave when you have your idiot friends with you and you're ganging up on one lone snake. How do you feel about the odds when it's two of us against you?"

Sirius pushed Luna, and she walked leisurely to Barty and Regulus.

"If you ever touch her again, you won't just get a warning," Regulus threatened.

Sirius watched as the three of them turned and walked away together. The men had their arms around Luna in protective holds, and he glared at their retreating backs.

He wasn't giving up. Luna would be his!
