Thank you to my sister for the Beta and for her encouragement.

This one came to me when i was watching the episode and i know it has the breifing room scene to welcome them all back together but i thought they needed one of their own.

Trouble

Elizabeth was standing out on the balcony, she knew she should go to sleep, but she just needed some fresh air.

She could feel warmth on her back as arms encircled her waist. He let his chin rest on her shoulder for a second before releasing her and standing beside her holding the railing. She turned towards him and smiled as he mimicked her movements.

"What was that for?" she asked softly the smile still on her face.

"I didn't get a hug earlier!" he stated simply.

She smiled and looked out across the ocean.

"I missed you," she said simply "when Chuck told me that there was no trace…" she looked down at her hands on the railing. Neither of them had ever been good at voicing their feelings, it was getting easier but they still stuck to the familiar routine.

"I know I agreed to stop that didn't I?" he said looking at her face.

"Yes you did!" she reminded him; meeting his gaze "I knew you would cause me trouble from the moment I met you!" she added smiling, moving over to him.

"I told you that too," he stated

"Yes you did and you kept that promise." She said light heartedly.

"I know I'm sorry," he said taking a step closer so that they were touching. He took her hand in his to add delicately, "I will always come beck to you Elizabeth. In some way I'll find a way home-," she looped her free arm around his neck and he wrapped his around her waist.

"You better!" she said stroking the hair at the back of his head. "At least I get you for this week in Atlantis till your team can go off-world again."

"Well there is that!" he said lowering his head so that his lips were a breath away from hers, "but I'm sure I can find a way to cause trouble here as well!" he said playfully just before he closed the distance and captured her lips in a kiss.

It wasn't the first time they had kissed and it certainly wouldn't be the last but they still managed to take each others breath away, and even their first kiss had felt as natural as the latest. They were best friends who relied on each other and fell in love. They had their ups and downs but that made it more perfect.

The broke apart and rested their foreheads together.

"Missed you!" he whispered.

"Missed you too!" she whispered back a yawn escaping her mouth.

"Bed!" he simply stated leaning back and taking hold of her hand they made their way off to their quarters, saying goodnight to the technicians as they passed.
