It all started as game. And Noah was the queen of it. We threw our natural charmes out, and toyed with boys stupid enough to fall in the trap. But something, somewhere, went wrong. I fell in love...
Me, Noah and my twinbrother Fred were sitting in the great hall, eating breakfast. Noah was staring over the house tables, looking for a victim. Even though she found happiness in her steady relationship with Slytherin hottie Draco Malfoy (of all people) she enjoyed our little game. She mostly aimed for the Slytherin table, because she got a thrill out ofthe reaction from her victim's fellow classmates, for flirting with a Gryffindor. And not just any Gryffindor. Her eyes locked with someone, and she winked. Lexi turned and saw a blonde shake his head. She smiled and turned towards her best friend again.
"You just love pissing him off don't you?" lexi asked, grinning.
"You know me all too well Lex. But i'm not playing today. It's your turn." she smiled evilly in my direction and started scanning the tables again.
The principes of the game were easy. We would find a boy who was staring in our direction and lock eyes. We'd smile, wave and blink. Then we'd turn away and fight to not burst out in laughter because of the way they'd keep drooling over us. And after all this, we'd just ignore them, until they figured out they fell for the trap. That was the fun part though. Everybody knew the game, but they all fell for it.
"Look who's staring No." Fred said all of a sudden. Our heads whipped in the direction he was looking at.
"Game on."Noahsaid. She locked eyes with the golden-boy, Harry Potter, and smiled her alluring smile. He blinked, confused, and looked over his shoulder. Noah's smile widened when he stared back in her burst out in laughter when he shyly smiled back. His smile was wiped off his face at this, or maybe because his girlfriend slapped him across the head. She looked back and mouthed a quick sorry at him. At this, realisation dawned on his face, and he grinned.
"Zero for you, and you" she said, pointing at me and Fred.
"And 1 for me." she grinned.
"You should be standing at zero, you promised." she giggled when Draco wrapped her arms around her, and kissed her neck. Fred gagged, i rolled my eyes. All of a sudden her eyes widened.
"Your turn Lex." she inclined her head in the direction of a redhead, a Weasley.
"God, a Weasley, you really wanna lead that on?" Draco shook his head.
"You got that right, they're easy victims. George to be precise." she pulled Draco next to her on the bench so she could sneakily stare in Weasley direction.
"Time to even the score, right?" I said, trying to sound conviced. I had to admit, i wasn't good at this. Noah had the excuse of her perfect face, no her beautiful face. She is 1/3 veela after all. I didn't have that. But noah always shook her head at that. She thought i was as beautiful as her. And that's that. She smiled as i stared in George's direction. I looked him straight in the eyes, and noticed the blush that made him look as red as his hair. I smiled, and his face reddened. I ignored Fred, who was almost rolling with laughter at this.
"Look away, look away." noah hissed. I turned my head and looked at fred. He was serious again. His attention was fixed on noah, who was peeking over draco's shoulders, at George. He was still staring, baffled.
"Turn at him again, and wave. Then turn away." I did as i was told. My movement was answered with a smile. I automaticaly smiled back and found myself lost in his gaze. And then it happened. My stomach started to make flips, as if a million butterflies tried to break out of it.
"Lex!" Noah hissed. I turned at her suddenly. She had an eyebrow raised at me.
"sorry." i answered. I felt weird. What had just happened?
"Now you've done it, he's smiling." she said, sounding irritated. He should be looking confused by now.
"Last move, look and wink." she said, very serious. I looked at him again, and felt that weird feeling in my stomach again. He smiled, much more confident now, and waved at me. I remembered Noah's intent gaze on my face and winked. His smile faltered, and he looked confused, finally. I turned away, but when i did that, i felt a strange jolt in my stomach, and an ache in my heart. I didn't want to look away, i realised then. Oh, no...
