Tokyo, 1999
"No… it can't be… Fuu-ma…" The girl's voice crumbled in pure shock and agony.
The sword in her hands impaled itself in her best friend's chest. The metallic scent of blood touched her nostrils. Noticing what was happening; tears streamed down her pale cheeks.
She doesn't know the price of her own wish.
The man smiled softly and painfully sad. "It's okay… Kamui."
I will do anything to save Fuuma even if I have to hurt him in the process, I will bring him back!
He took the girl's cheek in his palm. "It's over."
Even if you have to kill Fuuma in the process?
Silently he brushed his thumb to wipe her agonizing tears. "It's not your fault."
"Thank you." He whispered it to her sweetly yet bitterly as he pushed his crippled body off her and freefalling from the peak of Tokyo Tower.
Stunned, the girl eyes glazed over her best friend's falling body. Her fingers on Shinken twitched uncontrollably as the overwhelming feeling of losing someone important washed over her all over again like cold water.
Clang
She threw the sword that her aunt had given birth into which cost of her own life as she leaped onto the edge of Tokyo Tower. Her world turned dark. She lost her mother—Magami Tōru, her aunt—Magami Tokiko, her best friend—Monō Kotori, her sanity, her other self—'Kamui', her father—Sakurazuka Seishirō, her comrades, and now her first love and her twin star, Monō Fuuma. She could not let that happen. Earth had taken more than enough from her. She did not want to lose him, if she had to, it'd be better to die… with him.
"FUUMA! NO!"
She tried to jump, to follow her first love's lead, but a pair of strong arms encircled itself around her waist, forcibly tugging her backwards into an embrace of warm chest.
She struggled. She knew it was him as the scent of sakura petals with faint tobacco combined with the smell of fresh citrus and something masculine. "Let me go Subaru! Fuuma is—"
The man in black tightened his embrace while rubbing the girl's back. He said nothing as the girl kept hitting him with her tiny fists, as her sobs broke into agonizing and painful cries. He stand still, with a crystal teardrop escaped his eye.
"It's over now, Kamui. It's all over."
