Prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

#0 Prologue

Before time began, before life existed, there was chaos.

And in that space, three goddesses appeared.

The three descended upon the chaos known now as Hyrule...

And they created life.

Din, the goddess of power, spread her flaming arms, and thus became the red earth. Nayru, the goddess of wisdom, poured her knowledge onto that earth and gave the spirit of law to govern it. Farore, the goddess of courage, with her rich soul, fruited all life forms that would uphold the law. These three golden goddesses, with their labors completed, prepared to depart for the heavens.

But before they left,

Din used the red clay of her earth to shape a form similar to her own. Nayru placed the form into existence, and Farore breathed life into the figure.

Thus Hylia, the goddess of our world, was born.

As the goddesses ascended into the heavens, each goddess gifted their individual essences to the new goddess, providing her the power to protect their creation. These essences formed into the tri-force, a powerful object capable of granting any man's greatest desire just by touching it.

With the tri-force in her possession, Hylia searched across the new world to find those to accompany and serve her in her rule. In her exploration she found life forms that had great similarity to herself and the goddesses, known now as the Hylian race. Together with the Hylians and the tri-force, Hylia brought peace and prosperity throughout the new world. However, in this vast world, there were also life forms that opposed Hylia and supported those who vowed to seek out her destruction and take the tri-force for themselves.

The leader of those against Hylia was known as Demise, the demon king. Demise, empowered by evil and malice incarnate, wanted the tri-force for his own evil desires. With his followers, Demise attempted to steal the tri-force by brute force, but was thwarted due to the power of Hylia and her people.

After his defeat, Hylia fled the surface of the world to the sky, in hopes that the tri-force could continue to be safely kept in her protection, away from Demise. But, the demon king soon followed, this time as powerful as the goddess herself. Even so, he was destroyed, due to the aid now of a chosen Hylian hero and the goddess herself.

This chosen hero was soon to be so loved by the goddess that she herself gave up her immortality to be with them.

And thus with her divine sacrifice, the future of the tri-force, a godly relic, is now in the hands of mortals...

"But!" cried Zelda.

But… as the millennia passed the Hylian people descended back to this land, and formed the Kingdom of Hyrule. Hylia, the ruler of this land, with her hero started the royal line that still controls and protects the tri-force to this day.

"Mom!"

Oh, alright. Long after the passing of Hylia and her hero, about 10,000 years before you and me, it is said that the people of Hyrule came to face the usurpation of the Calamity Ganon, a beast said to have birthed straight from the evil and malice that had enriched Demise in the beginning. With its cunning and power, the beast proved to be the greatest threat to Hyrule in its entire history. Thus the kingdoms all across the earth had to combine their efforts in order to defeat it.

Thankfully, the newly formed alliances between the Hyrulian peoples managed to seal the Calamity Ganon for good, putting the land into the longest peace and prosperity that the world has ever seen.

"The end!" said Zelda, smiling.

"The end." Said the Queen.
