Wahh. A new story. This story is going to be a Draco Malfoy FanFic, because, come on... who doesnt love him?! I havent had much experience with ... im sort of new. But I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for you to review this story. Dont be afraid to give me constructive criticism. I love hearing from my readers. and now, without further ado, here is the preface to my newest story. ENJOY!

I'm sick of people who try to understand me. Those kinds of people usually end up with a punch in the face and an earful about how my life was far to complicated to be comprehended by the average person. But what really drives me insane is people thinking they know me, when the reality is, they don't. Most don't know what I've been through, and since I don't tell my story to many people, most never will.

I stared at the teenage girl in the mirror. Wearing her expected black Hogwarts robes, she had emerald green eyes which contrasted with her caramel brown hair and alabaster pale complexion. She knew she would stand out in her new school, not because of her appearance, but her personality. Her name is Perrianne Paton. Decent if you got to know her. That is, if you were lucky enough to know her.

If you hadn't guessed by now, Perrianne Paton is me. Surprise, surprise. I moved to England only a few days ago, leaving my home in New York behind, as well as the memories that went with it. My brother Aaron and I were very close. He was 17, me being 15. We had been each other's best friends since as long as I could remember.

I knew from the start that Hogwarts would be a huge change for us. Back in Fiddlestock, the wizarding school in America, we wore what we wanted. The rules were not as strict as they were here. I was free to do what I pleased. But here in Hogwarts, it seemed like everyone was watching me to see if I lived up to their standards. And what was up with these houses? My brother and I were both placed in Gryffindor which was said to be for the brave. I had assumed I would have been in Slytherin or Ravenclaw since those were the houses my parents had belonged to. But Gryffindor? Aaron had assured me the Sorting Hat had made the right decision but with everyone questioning me about how I could possibly have been put in Gryffindor, I'll admit, wasn't so convinced.
