Prologue
The desert of keys spread out as far as the eye could see, from horizon to horizon, as if it spanned the entire world. All was silent and still here, not even the faintest breeze could be felt as the sun beat down on this battlefield of time. For countless millennia this place had been devoid of life, breath and consciousness.
Suddenly there was a pulse of energy, a ripple so faint it was almost as if something were merely awakening. At the very centre of the desert stood two Keys, larger and more decorative of the rest; one of pure white, the other of the deepest black. It was from here the ripple had originated as these two keys stirred. These two keys had been dormant since the war, hibernating, as if waiting for something to awaken them, and finally that day had come.
Moments later the desert stirred with consciousness as the ripple pooled out to the other keys, awakening each from it's slumber in a unique event. For the first time in history, the entire desert was alive and restless.
Andy awoke with a start, his brow wet with sweat. Taking a few deep breaths he looked outside at the storm that was raging. Sighing he laid back down, attempting to recapture sleep, but it was too late; his mind was alert and his body restless.
Minutes later he was dressed and on his way downstairs. Passing the hallway mirror he caught a glimpse of himself; stopping, he took a closer look at the mess in front of him, tired blue eyes staring out from a jungle of jet-black hair, bags under his eyes and mouth open like some soulless ghoul.
He was about to make a detour to brush himself up when something else in the mirror caught his eye. Taking a closer look, his eyes widened and he spun, but there was nothing there.
"That's funny." He said, scratching his head, confused. "I was sure there was a… oh well never mind."
Shaking his head he carried on downstairs, oblivious to the fact that his shadow stayed in the mirror.
"This arrived 5 minutes before you did." Kairi said, holding out the bottle to Sora. He took it curiously, removed the cork and slid out the note inside. It took a moment for the group to realise it had the King's Seal. Sora opened it as quick as he could with Riku looking over his shoulder.
"So, What's it say?"
"Give me a moment," Sora replied, finally getting the parchment open, he begun to read out loud.
"Sora,
It looks like something was brewin' while we were dealing with the Organisation, something big. I'll be coming in 5 days to explain the situation.
All the best,
King Mickey"
"The king's coming here?" Goofy asked when he finished reading.
"Looks like it." Sora replied, "I wonder what's been happening."
Before anyone else could say a thing, the ground shook and a deafening clap sounded through the air. The sky grew dark, and then, out of no where, something appeared in the sky, an arch that seemed to rise to the heavens themselves, filled with a bright light.
