~Sesshomaru~
I held Rin in the crook of my left arm while writing with my right. She was really cranky today and I couldn't figure out why. I changed her, fed her, burped her, and even played with her and she was still whining. She wasn't ready for a nap yet but in this case it would be appreciated. She started to squirm in my arm as she let out a small cry. I sighed. I walked over to the couch and laid her down in her bouncer. I picked up my phone and dialed Izayoi's number.
"Hello?" A woman's voice answered on the other end of the reciever.
"Mother? Could you come watch Rin for me?" I asked. I heard a small gasp.
"Oh the great Sesshomaru needs my assistance!" I growled at the sarcasm in her voice. She laughed.
"Sure I'll be over in ten." She said hanging up. I sighed and looked down at Rin, her lip was sticking out and her eyes watery once again. I placed her pacifier in her mouth but she rejected it. Instead she placed her hand in her mouth & started drooling a lot.
"I wish you could talk." I said before walking back into the kitchen to finish off my work. Rin began to cry and I continued to try until I just gave up and let her cry herself to sleep hopefully.
Izayoi made it over and barged right into my home asking what I did to her grand baby. I rolled my eyes. Izayoi picked Rin up who was still crying on occasions but then it stopped when Rin started to observe her.
"What's the matter baby?" Izayoi cooed in her baby voice. Rin continued to stare at her. Izayoi smiled at me.
"She just wanted her nana." Then a loud cry broke out as Rin started crying again. She placed her fist in her mouth and the crying stopped.
"She must be hungry." I said handing izayoi a warm bottle. She offered it to Rin but Rin just turned her head and continued to chew on her fist.
I stared at her chew on her fist before noticing some white coming out of her gums. I had finally realized why she had been cranky.
"Rin's teething." I said. Sticking my finger in her mouth to feel the surface of the tooth breaking through her gums. She smiled as I continued to rub her gums. Walked back into the kitchen and reached into the freezer for a pink teething ring. Rin took it happily.
"Awe! Time for a picture!" Izayoi said taking out her iphone and snapping a picture of Rin's gums and sending it to father. I sighed. Now that we had figured out why Rin was so cranky maybe I could get some work done without any kind of distractions.
"Could you and father take Rin for the night? I need to finish off these documents for work." I asked. Izayoi's faced brightened as she squeezed Rin closer! Of course we'd love too! I knew this was a bad idea because every time they took Rin she always came back with extra things like more bottles, pacifiers, toys, a lot of dresses, shoes, etc. I was running out of room. My mansion was covered in baby clothes, bottles, and pacifiers already and they always insisted that I needed these things.
I packed up Rin's things into her baby bag and placed her into her car seat. Rin looked up at me and smiled.
"Good bye Rin." I smirked. Kissing her on the forehead. I then walked out and placed her on the driver side of the car in the back seat. Rin started to squirm again. This time she was pushing her self up and holding her arms out for me. I gave her my finger to hold as I made sure she was strapped in securely. I said my good byes to her once again. She didn't cry just continued to smile.
I had only been a parent for a couple of months but even I realized its worth.
