Ok, my first poem. My poems tend to be quite angsty and not many of them rhyme but I find that they have more of an artistic charm that way. Anyway, this is the Disney version of Hunchback Of Notre Dame and is set after Frollo sees the beautiful gypsy, Esmeralda dance at the Festival Of Fools…and as always, he is torn between lust and hate. I'm very pleased with this poem but let me know if I need to improve so please R&R.

Rated T for sexual references, and extreme feelings of hate. Also involves religion.

I do not own Hunchback of Notre Dame.

The Mysterious Dancing Girl

A puff of smoke hit the stage

A swirling figure appeared within it

An olive-skinned beauty with mesmerising eyes

As she pranced about provocatively

She threw a glance at every male in sight

Like a deadly viper hypnotising its prey

She attempted to seduce me but it was all an act

However she left her silk scarf as a souvenir

I caress the soft texture of its material

Wishing it was replaced with her soft, supple body

For just one night of meaningless passion

Yet if I did, I would compromise my promise of heaven

And instead be banished to the hellish underworld

I curse myself for falling victim to her charms

By doing so I condone witchcraft

She encapsulates the sin of lust, the devil's whore

I pray to be saved from the sin of Eve

All my desires for the flesh expelled

Please send me to Purgatory

I will resist the flames of redemption

I will be the ideal repentant sinner

For it is the only way to break the spell

The spell of temptation with which she plagued me

Right now, it coarses through my fragile veins

I curse the day I laid eyes on

That mysterious dancing girl.
