Prologue...
"Come on Amu!" Utau yelled down to her friend who was lagging behind
Amu grumbled to herself, out of all the things they could have done on her last day of freedom, she decided to go mountain climbing. And not to mention dragging Amu along.
"You could have taken Rima or Yaya"Amu said under her breath
"What was that!?" Utau yelled down to Amu
"Nothing" she yelled back
Suddenly, Amu felt the rock under her foot give way. Slipping, she tried to grab hold of something but failed. Utau held on to the rope connecting them but the weight of Amu falling caused her right hand to slip so she was hanging by her left hand only. Amu saw that if they didn't act fast both would end up falling to their deaths. Looking for a solution, Amu could only see one way. Grabbing her knife from her backpack, she started to cut the rope. Utau looked down and saw what she was doing and screamed at her firend.
"Amu, What are you doing?!"
Amu ignored her friend and continued to cut
"Wait, Amu. You don't have to..."
"I'm sorry Utau, but you can't miss your special day tomorrow just because of me"
With one last cut, the rope snapped and Amu felt gravity grab hold and slam her down towards the ground. Covering herself she felt the hard impact of the rocky cliff side all over as she tumbled down. losing her strength to hold her arms up, they fell to her sides as her head collided with a boulder, yet she still continued to tumble down the mountain side.
After what felt like an eternity, Amu finally hit the bottom. Opening her eyes, she felt overwhelming pain course through her body and she screamed in agony. Everything hurt. Her vision started to go blurry and before she knew it she passed out.
