Disclaimer: I don't own HP or 'If Today Was Your Last Day'. Clearly.

Well this one came to me while I was listening to 'If Today Was Your Last Day' by Nickelback. I actually just recently found this whilst searching my documents. I edited it a little, but it has otherwise remained the same.

I had wanted to write a little drabble about Ron and Harry, seeing as I wrote one focusing on Harry and Hermione as friends already. Enjoy.

Much love and cupcakes,

The Best Advice

My best friend gave me the best advice. I didn't know it at the time, but I sure do now. He was the best friend a guy could ask for. He was with me through thick and thin. Even when he left, he came back. When we fought Voldemort, he was right there beside me. He was hit trying to protect me, and was slowly dying. I defeated my enemy, and got to my friend as quick as I could. Our eyes communicated what we truly couldn't with words- that we were each the other's best friend, and we were brothers. But he did say one thing with his last breath. It was something I'm sure I will never forget. It was completely out of character for him. What he said showed that he had matured as we had grown older. He said, "Live each day like it's your last. It's what I should have done. If I could go back, boy, I would live like that. Just... do it for me. Goodbye Harry," he said with tears in his eyes. "I'll see you in a few decades." And with a little chuckle, he died. Just like that. It was weird. I expected more fanfare to my best friend's death. I expected I would scream in hurt and out of pain, but I couldn't do anything but sit and cry.

It was unbelievable at first, but I remembered what he said. And I live each day like it's my last. I take the road less traveled, I try every new thing that interests me. I tell every girl when I like her, no matter what previous outcomes were. Because I know that wherever he is, my best friend is damn making sure I can.
