This story doesn't have Kagome, Inuyasha, etc. in it. The story is just a lot like the story of Inuyasha, but don't let that turn you off, you might still like it.

Chapter 1

A long time ago a girl, much like Kikyo and Kagome, walked the feudal era. She and her younger sister Akaibara, protect a jewel much like the shikon jewel. Mizuki and Akaibara, travel constantly, because they don't want anyone to know about the evil jewel they posses.

If anyone without a pure soul touches it, it would, once again, become evil. And this jewel is not an easy jewel to purify. It takes a lot of time, and Mizuki's energy to purify it.

"Lady Mizuki?" Akaibara asked her older sister.

"Yes Akai?"

"How far are we from a place to drink? I'm really thirsty."

"Your suitou is empty?"

"Yes sister."

"Then I think there is a river not to far away from the road up here."

They stepped off the path and walked until they reached a river, not to far from where they were.

"Here we are, why don't you fill up my suitou too, Akai."

"Okay sister."

Mizuki leaned against a rock and shut her eyes for a quick rest. Until she heard Akaibara's scream. Her eyes shot open and she sat up quickly.

"Sister! Demon!"

Mizuki looked up and saw an ugly, black bird demon circling over her sister. When the bird started swooping downward she grabbed her bow and arrow and took aim.

"Bulls eye!" she yelled when she hit her target and it disintegrated as it fell to the ground.

"Oh Akai, why are you crying? You should be used to demon attacks by now."

"It's still scary." Akaibara said, between sobs.

Mizuki grabbed her sister's shoulder.

"Well lets get going, the longer we stay in one place, the more demons find out who we are, and what we have."

They wandered back onto the path and were back on there way.

Later that afternoon when the sun had just set Mizuki heard a rustling in the bushes. She turned around and aimed her bow and arrow at the bushes.

"Get behind me Akai," she whispered.

"Demon! Show yourself!" She yelled at the bush.

Then, a cute little bunny emerged from the bush.

"Awww," Akaibara, said, "It's so cuuute!"

Mizuki sighed and put her bow away. When she turned around she found herself face to face with a demon. She gasped.

"Uhhh….Cat…demon?" She guessed.

"No!" it yelled "I am a tiger demon, T-I-G-E-R, TIGER!"

"Okay, sorry"

"My name is Tora, and I know you have the ikouhousu."

Mizuki backed up "How do you know its name?"

"Because I MADE the thing! Well, me and the members of my family, but I did the majority of the work."

"How could you of made something so evil?"

"The jewel wasn't intended to be evil, it was made to help my family protect our small village, but the jewel became too powerful, so powerful, that demons came from all around to obtain it. Including a demon named Korosuanata. He got a hold of the jewel and he was the one who turned it evil."

"Yes I've heard of him…my father got the jewel away from him and left it with me to purify and protect…before he died of course."

"I know, that is why I came looking for you. I want to help you keep the jewel away from Korosuanata."

"Okay…I'll buy your story for now, you can come along, if you can keep up with us. And of course I can't let you hold the jewel.

"Don't worry." Akaibara said. "She won't even let ME hold it."

"That's because I don't know yet if you have a pure soul."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah."

Mizuki studied Tora closely. She was sure she was a demon but, she sensed some human in her too.

"Well lets get going times a wastein' "

So they set back off on their journey. But they didn't know that…in a bush, not too far away, a masked figure sat and watched as they walked away.
