"Do we really need another one?"

Minako's eyes narrowed at the comment as she stood up and put her hands on her hips. She blew away a few stray blonde hairs from her face as she responded to her companion's obviously stupid question.

"What do you mean, do we really need another one?"

The other woman raised a silver eyebrow, smirking at the reaction she received.

"I mean, we already have one at home. Don't you think that's enough responsibility?"

Minako stared her down, as if giving a silent warning about challenging her plans. Yaten met her gaze for for a few moments, and with a heavy sigh looked back down at the cages. She would rather not deal with the hyper girl's angry side this afternoon.

The blonde picked up on her victory and the smile that was previously upon her face had returned in full force.

"So...which one is going to come home with us?"

Yaten's eyes traveled along the long line of cats, each of different size and color and personality. They were all very cute, she had to admit, and for a brief moment she wished she could take care of all of them. It was no secret that of all animals, she was very fond of the feline variety. Dogs are too loud and have too much energy. She got enough of that on a daily basis dealing with the woman next to her.

"Oh they're all so adorable! Can't we just adopt all of them?"

"Mina..."

"I know, I know!"

Minako pouted, until one of the smaller cats caught her attention. It was in the last cage, curled up near the back, with only one cautious eye peeking out from the gray ball of fur. It looked frightened.

"That one! She's it!"

Yaten watched in silence as Minako was handed the little gray kitten, and had to fight back a smile when the excited girl's voice changed into a mixture of baby noises. She looked like such a little kid holding the small animal in her arms.

The kitten looked up at her savior with big green eyes, body shaking with nervousness.

"Are you sure about her? She's a little timid for you isn't she?" Yaten questioned.

The blonde looked up at her with a mischievous smile.

"Don't worry, I will get her to open up to me. I'm pretty good at that, right?"

She tossed a wink in Yaten's direction, making the other woman blush suddenly. She giggled and carefully placed the fur ball in the silver haired woman's arms, her face lighting up at the sight. The kitten instantly stopped shaking and curled into her chest, letting out a small yawn before closing her eyes. Yaten's blushed intensified and she looked at Minako, who grinned and bit her lip in adoration.

"I think she just chose us. Let's go home."

"Fine, but you're in charge of the litter box."

I have a deep love for cats and Sailor Moon. That about sums this up.
