Of course when faced with two deadly S-Rank rogues from the group known as the 'Akatsuki' one doesn't just defeat them within a snap of the fingers, does one?
She had fought for a few hours, fighting tooth and nail to save her own ass. Her team left her in the dust, of course she was the captain, but they pissed themselves like children and fucking ran. Wonderful.
Her and her new team had been sent to gather information on the infamous Akatsuki and they had succeeded, they— cough Hinata— has found a scroll that could bring the terrorist organization down.
Even though she had recently been promoted to ANBU captain, Hinata still wasn't strong enough to take down two Akatsuki members. Attempting that without backup is basically a suicide mission.
The Ex-Heiress panted heavily, her chakra reserves low and her movements becoming sluggish. Damn.
I, Inu, Tori, Saru, Hitsuji, "Kuchiyose no Justsu!" Her tone was in a rasped whipser as she slammed her palm against the earth.
A pack of nin-dogs appeared from the smoke and the small pug on top glanced up at Hinata with indifference, "Yo, whatcha need?"
"I need your fastest to get this scroll to Tsunade immediately. I will give decoys to the rest of you, if you're caught, unsummon yourself immediately, we're dealing with the Akatsuki." The name was frightening enough to have the hounds straighten up and Hinata strapped the scroll to the fastest dog's side, giving her a loving scratch behind the ear.
It may be the last time she sees them.
Hinata watched as all the nin-dogs took off in separate directions, she activated her Byakugan with the little chakra she had left to find the Akatsuki member barely 200 feet from her.
She smiled serenely behind her porcelain fox mask and fell against a tree, she slid down the side and made a single hand sign.
(F)- "Attention newbies!" The entire squadron of fresh ANBU stood at attention to their superior's call, "In the event that you're in a position where you can't escape, you must protect Konohagakure's secrets and use this hand sign."
In the back of the room, Hinata listened to every word carefully and dutifully, "You will each be sealed, this is a special type of Fuinjutsu, and the seal itself is laced with a small amount of C3 explosives. The seal will detonate once this seal has been formed, thus destroying your body and the secrets it holds."
Each newbie was called into a different room to be sealed, until Hinata was finally called in.
Her captain led her to the dark room and she sang on the wooden chair, "Remove your armor and shirt."
Hinata followed his instructions without hesitation, her torso now bare to him. She sat backwards on the wooden chair and pulled her ponytail over her shoulder, the captain dipped the brush in ink and drew a large seal on her, taking up most of her back.
When he finished, the captain made a few hand signs and slammed his palm onto the center of the seal. Scorching pain wracked Hinata's body as the seal fused with every nerve in her being, but she made no noise, or movement.
Her captain seemed impressed as she ordered her to redress and rejoin her ranks.
Hinata followed instructions once more without hesitation and walked out of the room, ignoring the still burning pain. -(F)
Hinata smiled, her life seemed complete. She had her one-sided love, she confessed to said love, was rejected, found solace in another and grew to love him.
Sorry Sasu, looks like I won't make it home in time for our date tonight... Forgive me...
With that, Hinata sent chakra to her seal and smiled once more as her world went black, the C3 blowing up everything within a 100 foot radius, and hopefully the Akatsuki members.
