WARNING: Very short
DISCLAIMER: Stargate SG-1 is not mine. I wish it was, but it isn't.
So don't sue me, I'm way too young to get sued.
AUTHOR'S NOTES: Teal'c isn't my favorite character, but something about him inspires me.
I wanted to write, so I wrote. This is what happened. It basically describes (sorta)
the first episode through Teal'c's eyes. Anyways.. This is officially my first fanfic
to be posted at FF.net. And, it's not even a poem really. But, it isn't a story either
so.. oh well, I'm new so criticize to your hearts content. But please remember I'm new,
and I'm trying my best with what time I have (30 minutes to write before school!). Hope you like.

I remember a day when I prayed.
I prayed to gods who did not care,
I prayed to gods who were not gods at all.

I remember the day a group of Tau'ri came from the stargate,
Their confidence matched that of the Goa'uld, the false gods.
Even in the bleak, crowded prison cell, they had hope.
They believed in something I believed impossible.

They believed they could fight the Goa'uld.
They even believed they could win.
I remember the day I betrayed the false gods.
I believed in the Tau'ri.

If there is no hope, you cannot fight a war and expect to win.
My master, a great man, taught me this.
What few of my fellow Jaffa knew of the secret of the Goa'uld,
Had no hope.
Did not even consider opposition to their gods.
They feared their own deaths.
That is something a Jaffa cannot fear.

I followed the Tau'ri,
I followed them then as I do now.
They are my allies, my friends, my chosen family now.
They have hope, and in them lies my own hope.

I believe we can fight the Goa'uld.
And, like my allies, I now believe I can win.
