Forgetting Mary Alice
Alice stared into blank space. She didn't know what to do, what to say. This pale man lay limp in her arms. She had just drunk his blood.
It wasn't possible. She couldn't be a...a vampire. That was crazy, it was insane!
There was no such thing as vampires! And, yet, all the proof lay right in her arms. The dead man's body had been drained of all blood. She had done that.
The sun had come out from behind the clouds and her skin began top sparkle. She stood up in a flash. The body crumpled to the ground but Alice had already forgotten it.
She ran, faster and faster, until everything was speeding past her. Everything she saw crystal clear, though it should've been a blur.
A faint scent drifted on the breeze. Another vampire? She jerked to a sudden stop. She inhaled. Definitely a vampire, it didn't give her that burning pain in her throat.
Sure enough, a few seconds later, she heard footsteps pounding against the muddy ground. The breathing she heard wasn't at all labored lie it should've been at that speed.
A figure came into her view, It was a woman with pale white skin that wasn't sparkling but faintly glittering. Her hair was fiery red.
When Alice looked at the woman's eyes, she expected to see blood red eyes. They weren't even black like they'd be if she was thirsty. Her eyes weren't topaz, either. The man who had bit Alice had had topaz eyes though. He had vanished before she had been fully turned.
The woman's eyes were in fact a bright emerald green. She smiled a sparkling smile at Alice.
"Hello, dear. Are you a new born?" she asked with a slight Irish accent.
Alice nodded.
"Well, I can't remember back then. You see, I'm a half-vampire, half-human. My name's Charlotte. What's yours?"
"Alice. Mary Alice." she noticed her voice was different. She hadn't used it si8nce she'd screamed while being bitten. "Please, I have a favor to ask of you, Charlotte."
"Go on."
"Will you try and break my neck? I know it sounds like I'm insane, but, well, to be entirely honest, I was in an asylum. Charlotte I don't want this life. Please," she looked at the red-haired woman with pleading eyes.
"You will still be immortal, even if I break your neck," Charlotte looked at her with pity. "You'll have no recollection of you human life or this part of this life, Mary Alice. Are you sure you want this?"
"Positive," She held her head high. Charlotte's hands wrapped around Mary Alice's neck.
CRACK!
