This was just for fun, don't judge me O.o (but tell me what you think) It starts right after Darry hits Ponyboy so we'll take it from there :)

Darry
"Pony, I... I didn't mean to!" I hollered out the door. But it was pointless. "Soda, come on!" I ordered, already running down the road. I wasn't about to let my kid brother run off.
Ponyboy was faster than both Soda and I, but there were a few places I figured he'd run to. When we neared Johnny's house, we could hear his folks yelling at each other, so Johnny probably wasn't there and was most likely with Pony. They weren't at the lot, so we kept going till we got close to the third place I thought they'd be.
"Darry!" Soda called, pointing to the fountain in the middle of the park. "I think that's them."
Sure enough, I heard Ponyboy's distinct holler. I could see Johnny's small figure on the ground a few yards away from the fountain. I ran to the Socs holding Ponyboy underwater and pulled them away, adding a few punches here and there. The Socs were all obviously drunk, Johnny, Soda, and I could take them if we had to. But we didn't, they ran off and I pulled Ponyboy out of the icy water. He lay gasping and spitting out water for a minute while Johnny stood and brushed himself off.
"Y'alright, Pony?" Soda had knelt down beside me and put his hand on Ponyboy's shoulder.
"I'll be fine." He answered between coughs.
"Why don't we go home, and Johnny, that includes you." I suggested.
"Sounds good to me." Soda said.
He helped up Ponyboy, who, by then, had stopped coughing.
Johnny was looking around wildly, a terrified expression on his face. His hand was gripping something in his back pocket.
"What's that?" I asked.
"Huh? Oh, nothing." He said, pulling his hand back.
With that we started home. I noticed Johnny wouldn't look at his house as we passed it, but I didn't find that strange, in fact, it seemed pretty normal.
When we got home, Ponyboy dried off and changed out of his wet clothes, then came and sat with the rest of us in the living room.
Not much later, we went to bed. Soda slept with Pony so Johnny could sleep in Sodapop's room. Before Soda came into Pony's room, I had to talk to Ponyboy. "Listen, kiddo, I really am sorry about tonight."
"I know Dar, it's okay. I ain't mad, I promise."
"Thanks, little buddy." I smiled to myself as I left the room.
