"Jade," Beck said, "Why did you call Tori stupid?"

Jade growled. It had been a bad day for her.

"Why? Vega scares me Beck. I am terrified that I'm going to lose you to Vega."

"Okay first of all her name is Tori and secondly you could never lose me. Why would you think that you would?"

"You're always taking her side. You don't even listen to my point of view"

He paused for a second.

"Tell me your point of view," he said sitting down and making room for her on his lap. The argument between them had only lasted a few seconds. It lasted fifteen seconds to be exact.

"Every time Vega- excuse me every time TORI and I have a fight you tell me I need to be nice. But I feel like she's not little Miss Perfect either"

"I never said Tori was little Miss Perfect"

"No but you act like it," she said, "You made me go sit on the steps"

"Hey I'm here with you aren't I," he said rubbing her shoulders.

"Not for 15 seconds you weren't," Jade said

He chuckled.

"Okay tell you what," he said, "I'll stay here for 15 seconds after you get up"

"Why didn't you send Vega to the steps," Jade asked

Again he laughed

"For what? Because her boyfriend was a jerk?"

"No. For kissing you on her 2nd day of Hollywood Arts"

"Wait. Is that part of the reason you're mad at Tori?"

"Not the only reason but a big part of it yes."

Beck cracked up.

"Jade that was a stage kiss," he said, "It wasn't real"

"Yeah but it felt real to me," she said tears filling her eyes, "I mean was couldn't you have said, "Look I don't think that's a good idea or something like that"

"Honey if I had known it would upset you I would never have gone along with it"

"Okay how come you got mad at me for embarrassing Vega last month," Jade asked, "I don't understand. I know the reason yes but you never get mad at her when she starts with me. It's not like-"

"I was wrong to do that," Beck said, "And maybe I was wrong to act that way in the first place. I thought it was the best way to handle that situation and I know now that it wasn't. Believe me it upset me just as much as it upset you."

"You weren't cold to her after you got mad at her though"

"No. I don't feel guilty about not being cold to her but I do feel guilty about being cold to you afterwards and I do feel guilty about getting mad in the first place. I wish I could go back and do things over with that."

"Well I appreciate what you're saying and I understand," Jade said, "Also what about what you said about how we couldn't be together until I was nice to Vega? How do you think it made me feel when you said that?"

"Again her name is Tori and I hate it when you two fight. Tori is just my friend. That's all that she is. I really think it's more of I want you to trust me"

"I do trust you," she said, "but do you have any idea how hard it was for me that week. Maybe it didn't bother you but it bothered me. Maybe it didn't affect you but it affected me"

"It bothered me too," he said, "It bothered me a lot"

"So why did you be so… I mean… why did you… and if… why…"

"Jade look at me," he said lifting her chin to meet his eyes. She was so upset she couldn't even speak in a full sentence.

She raised her eyes to meet his.

"It's because you're better then you think you are and I'm not going to allow you to be any less then you can be. Do you understand me," he asked.

"Yes"

"Good... now are you going to apologize to Tori"

Getting up she rolled her eyes.

"Are you crazy," she said walking away. Fifteen seconds later he joined her wrapping his arms around her.

"Crazy about you," he said
