One morning, on the Tardis, Amy woke a couple of hours before dawn – well what would have been dawn if they were anywhere with an atmosphere and a time zone, but as it was they were simply floating around in endless space. She made her way to the control room, giving off its usual, orange and blue glow. She loved the warmth of the control room. The Doctor, as usual, was awake and busy flailing about pressing buttons and pulling levers, and apparently having an argument with the Tardis. Amy sat down and waited for him to be less preoccupied. "Amy Pond" he said at last, "Why are you awake?" He examined her eyes closely looking for an answer. "Couldn't sleep" she said simply. This seemed to terrify him slightly. "Rrriight" he said helplessly. He sat down next to her and she laid her head on his tweed shoulder. "Do you remember when we saved the star whale?" she said after some time. "You saved it" said the Doctor, "I watched". They were silent again.
