Ok, so I was browsing on Pinterest (as I do almost 24/7) and I found this picture that is basically the inspiration for this oneshot. I tried to find the original source and it, apparently doesn't exist anymore, so, regardless, I did not initially come up with this idea. I simply found the inspiration and am using it.

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, nor do I own the original inspiration for this fanfiction. Also, I am using quotes from the Half-Blood Prince that are obviously, not mine.

Hermione's hand shot up in the air yet again. Draco had the urge to roll his eyes and did little to stifle it. Of course she knew what all the potions Slughorn had laid out in front of the class were. He knew what they were too; but he wasn't going to be the center of attention in class today; it was the last thing he wanted this year. To have all eyes on him is something he would've loved about 3 years ago; but this year the less people watching him the better. He already had Pansy trying to force her way into his life anyway she could. However, almost against his will he listened to Granger go on about Amortentia.

"It's the most powerful love potion in the world."

'Obviously.' Draco thought suppressing the urge to roll his eyes again.

"It's rumored to smell differently to each person according to what attracts them. For example, I smell-"

'Here we go; it's just going to smell like Weasl-bee.' Draco thought.

"Apples-"

'Wait, what?' Draco turned his head towards where the girl in question was standing.

"And parchment-"

Draco straightened up a little but decided that anyone here could smell like parchment.

"And-and cologne…"

Draco's eyes widened in surprise; he knew for a fact very few boys here actually wore cologne and even fewer actually wore good smelling cologne. And he wore the best.

Hermione had realized it too. 'But there's no way, someone else has to smell like that right? Right!?' She knew that no one else did and she knew the one person that smelled like that. 'No way, I can't be in love with Draco Malfoy. Oh Merlin, I hope I'm not. I hope he wasn't paying any attention to that, besides I'm sure there are plenty of guys who wear cologne here. Though I must admit, Draco's is the best.' Hermione turned around with reddened cheeks she stole a quick glance at Malfoy, only to find he was staring intently at her. 'Oh, Merlin please help me!'

Needless to say Draco couldn't properly concentrate for the rest of class. How could Hermione be in love with him? Why was he so caught up in this? This shouldn't affect him, he was the Slytherin Prince, and he had girls fawn over him every day. One girl shouldn't matter that much, no matter who it was. Unless- absolutely not. He wasn't allowed to have feelings her. He was raised to hate muggleborns. There was absolutely no way this could be happening. Well, there was only one way to find out.

Draco was walking out of the classroom when he passed by Amortentia. He knew he shouldn't, but the curiosity overtook him. He walked over to it and lifted the lid. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply through his nose.

First smell was chocolate. 'Ok, a pretty common scent.'

Second smell was mint toothpaste. 'That is also a common scent.'

The final one would tell him who it was and as long as it didn't smell specifically to Hermione, he would be perfectly fine. He took in the last scent and instantly realized what it was. Old books. 'Dear Merlin this isn't possible.' He felt his face drain of color and looked up to find the girl he was apparently in love with standing in the doorway looking at him.

Well, there you have it. Short and (kinda) sweet. I might write one more chapter, I might not. Let me know what you think.
