Bruce wasn't completely comfortable around Steve. It was painfully obvious. He was constantly eyeing him. Up and down, Bruce's eyes would flicker over his mussels. Steve noticed, but thought nothing of it. After all, He was Captain America, many people gave him strange glances. A few months after the Battle of New York, Steve was testing a new armor design in the lab. Tony had to go out, so he was alone with Bruce.
When Bruce gave him another look, Steve just had to ask:
"Why do you look at me that way?"
"It's not… It's just…" Bruce trailed off looking embarrassed. Then he sighed:
"How much did SHIELD tell you about me?"
The question caught Steve off guard.
"They said you were an incredible scientist that suffered an accident while working with gamma radiation." It wasn't exactly true, but as he said it aloud, he realised what had made Bruce so unconfutable.
"I was trying to replicate the super soldier serum. I guess I just can't help but wonder where I went wrong."
They sat in tense silence until Tony's return.
I know that it's short but I needed to fill in the blank. I mean wouldn't you be a little jealous of Steve in Bruce's place?
