Limp Moments

The sky bristled like a wolf pelt.

He was sitting on a cliff overlooking the sea, but he was gazing at the sky. It was dotted with millions of tiny white glows. A sudden aching feeling in his stomach triggered him to clutch at it.

Night after night I look at the sky
and ask why you are not here.

A cold blast of salty wind beat at the boys exposed flesh, making it a little raw. He winced a little before tucking his arms closer to him.

"Aang?" he heard a soft voice call his name.

Aang felt is heart pick up speed as the voice dawned on him.

Night after night I listen to the
Overwhelming sound of my heart

"Here Katara." He called softly.

He heard quiet footsteps and felt someone sit next to him.

"You ok?"

He turned his head and looked into her eyes deeply.

Only concern showed back, nothing more.

Night after night I look around and see
That you are not here

"I'm fine." He answered a bit raspy for he had not spoken for at least an hour.

He felt the figure lean into him more.

"You sure?"

"I said I'm fine."

He could feel her gaze burn through his head.

"Ok." She answered a bit hurt.

Aang felt her warmth fade and looked around to see her disappear into the forest.

Night after night I sit here and feel
the emptiness

A sudden light caught his eye and he looked down to see a glowing white flower resting right where Katara had been. He picked it up, it felt so light. Aang took a deep intake of breath from it. The scent was overwhelming. Aang let his eyes stray from the flower too the night sky.

That you have left behind
Night after night I pray to the sky

"Katara." He breathed her name. Aang's grasp tightened on the flower as he looked back to where the girl had disappeared.

That where ever you might be,
you have found happiness.
