Don't own it!

My first attempt at a real poem, so please don't laugh if it sucks.

Daddy's little girl, Daddy's little Boy

~*~

   Daddy's little girl

   She's all grown up today

   With a white gown on

   The wedding is underway

The dress coming off the shoulders

   Her hair flowing thick

She takes a deep breath—she's so nervous!

But there is no one better to pick

~*~

   Daddy's little boy

   He's all grown up today

   With his tuxedo on

He's ready to face to day

   He tugs at his sleeves

   And straightens his tie

   Looking in the mirror

He realizes that he can't hide

~*~

   But Daddy's little girl

Is ready to take the stand

Her veil covering her face—she shows all poise

She only has to wait for the band

   Suddenly, she hears the sounds

   Of the organ pipe playing

Slowly, she walks, one foot in front of the other

   She can't keep them delaying

~*~

   And Daddy's little boy

   Stands more nervous than ever

She should come down soon—did she bail?

   No, never!

He runs his hand through his spiky hair

   Realizing time is late

When will she come? Will she show?

Or is she afraid of fate?

~*~

   Daddy's little girl

   Walks slowly down the aisle

The crowd stands, and looks in awe

   No one even shudders

She smiled brilliantly, her blue eyes shinning

She looked as if she were crying

~*~

   Daddy's little boy

He looks up the aisle with glee

He stares into her eyes and thinks,

"She's going to marry me"

   He puts out his arm

   It's hers for the taking

   Just like his heart

And he knew she wasn't faking

~*~

   Daddy's little girl

   Looks steadily into his eyes

   Lost under his gaze

   Under the summer skies

The words she hears are lost

Except for two oh so true

   She listens to him say

   "Yes, I do."

~*~

   Daddy's little boy

   Waits for her reply

It seems to take an eternity

   He hopes she doesn't lie

   He listens to her carefully

While she shows her brilliant smile

She takes his hand and says

"I do, I'll go the extra mile"

~*~

They did it now

   They said their vows

   And on their fateful day

   Miss Satan is Mr. Son's

And it goes the other way

   Daddy's little girl

   And Daddy's little boy

   Are all grown up today

They engage in a passionate kiss

One that surely, no one would miss

On this bright and cheery day
