Chapter 1: Prologue

A/N: This is a pony version of a PS1 game called Clock Tower II: The Struggle Within. I had the idea ever since my pal on deviantART, nickyv917, did a pony version of the cover. As the description has said, this is told through Pinkie's viewpoint.

(Begin)

Today was the day. The day I finally got out of the mental home. I still remember when I was sent there. I was told I murdered two colts who were teasing me, but I didn't remember it. Then, my father, Clyde Pie, arrived to visit shortly afterwards, as he had something to tell me. I remember it like it was yesterday.

(Flashback)

"You do know why you're here Pinkie?" he asked.

"Sort of." I replied.

"Sort of?" He questioned.

"I do know that I murdered two colts who were teasing me, but I didn't remember that." I replied, with a hint of regret.

"Well," he responded, "I know why they did. But first, you need to have this." he hoofed over a necklace. It was gold, with a jewel shaped like a balloon, like the one on my cutie mark.

"Why do I need a necklace?" I asked confused, as I put it on.

"First, you should know it was found you have DID." he continued on, acting as though I should know exactly what it was.

"Did? Did what?" I asked?

"No, D-I-D! Dissociative Identity Disorder, or, in simpler terms, a split personality." He explained. "This split personality came out when the colts teased you,and she killed them. The necklace contains a power called the Element Of Laughter, which can keep this personality dormant."

"So, as long as I wear this, I won't turn into a colt who kills ponies?" I asked.

"Exactly." he answered. "Unfortunately, I must go to work now. Try to not to be too sad, and especially not angry, as those could cancel out the Element Of Laughter."

(End flashback)

And now, I was finally going to leave. I was told I'd have to stay with my uncle and aunt, but I didn't mind too much, I had asked the staff of the institute, and they let me send a letter to them. They had some nice fillies that I have spent time with.

I waited with patience and excitement. Until eventually, the unicorn guard came round and told me, "Ms. Pinkie Pie, you are free to go." opening the door with his horn. I bounced out happily, heading to the train station. When I reached it, I happily bought the ticket, and went on into the train.

(Later)

The train stopped. It was night. I had a saddlebag for all my possessions. I bounced out heading in the direction for their house. The scenery was beautiful, I couldn't help but admire it, there were some nice trees with nice fruit growing on it. Eventually, I came to a clearing where I could see the house. I galloped up to it, and reached for the door. Little did I know that when I opened the door, I'd be in for a horrifying night.
