Chapter 1
It was dark. It was almost that eerie darkness that seemed to send chills down your arms and spine instantaneously with no wind or movement whatsoever. Looking around hardly seemed helpful, making out shadowed shapes.
Fear was what flew through her. Raw, unhidden fear that she couldn't hide anymore. She couldn't see it, but she could feel it.
It was coming.
She didn't know what was coming for sure, but, in some weird way, it was as if she recognized it from somewhere. Like it was a bad dream, maybe.
She was being watched by it, whatever it was. She felt violated in the unknown stare. She was being analyzed. Ever muscle movement, blink, and swallow was caught even in the pitch blackness.
It was almost impossible for that but the feeling was so strong, so intense, that she couldn't help but squirm. Anticipation rose within her. What did they want her?
She tried to pinpoint where the stare was coming from, but it was of no use. it literally felt like the stares were everywhere like a whole crowd of people were watching her as if she was a magician, and making sure she wasn't secretly pulling some trick on them. Frustration mixed in her sea of emotions of fear and anticipation, and her breathing increased.
With a grunt of frustration she called out, "Who are you?" Everything felt like it was spinning. A chuckle echoed from what seemed like every corner. It was a deep, amused chuckle of a man.
"You really want to know, Sakura?" The darkness spoke.
Sakura's heart started to race. "H-how do you know my name? Who are you?"
Amongst the shadows the figure of a man appeared. He was tall. In the dark, it was hard to tell much else. He was broader in the shoulders. Strong. "I know more than you think I do miss Kinomoto."
Sakura shivered. "W-where am I? How did I get here?"
"You are in the middle of your new room. The light will turn on in a minute."
"What? Why is it dark?" He chucked again.
"Fear of the unknown can create a more entertaining job."
"Job? You're not making any sense. What job?"
"You're the job" Sakura's heart sped even more. Trying to get up, she fell back again with a throbbing headache and dizziness turning the shadows.
"W-whoa."
"I'd just relax if I were you. The dizziness will wear off soon."
"What did you do to me?" Her voice raised.
"I had to get you here somehow, Sakura. It had to be in a way that you won't know where you are or how you got here. I may have drugged you a little, but I assure you it was needed."
Tears started to form in her eyes. "Why?"
The light turned on.
It burned her eyes and blinded her for a moment. When her eyes finally adjusted, she looked face to face with the man. Just then he said, "I told you it was my job...to capture you."
