The Cat
My heels clicked to a sinister rhythm as a smirk forming on my red stained lips. I sat down at my desk glancing at the glass walls surrounding me with a view of the sparkling river, thick forest, and snow capped mountains protecting my fortress.
I pressed a perfectly manicured nail on the intercom, "Oh Marc dear please ring Hart and send him hear, thanks doll."
I sighed leaning back in my chair tossing a glossy blonde ponytail over my shoulder. Garry Hartman came stumbling through my door.
"Yes, Madam?" he asked.
"I have a little bone to pick with you my sweet, please sit." I replied blinking my mascara lengthened eyelashes accenting rich golden brown irises.
The man tried the puzzled approach, "What do you mean?" his brows furrowed into a look of pure confusion.
"I can easily see through your act Hartman, no need for tricks," they always tried to lie their way out instead of owning up always making thing much more complicated than they needed to be.
"Why would you accuse me of something I have been loyal too this company," he lied his voice reeking of an American accent.
"Gary Hartman did you or did you not rat out my plans to the imbeciles on your home soil?" I started to lose my sweetness anger creeping into my voice.
"Yes I did, but things were getting a little dicey and I sought out a little help." He admitted.
"With a drug cartel? Did I tell you to take my plan and run with it?" I ask. "No." I continue before he could answer. "I gave you specific instructions to collect the resources and bring them to me."
"Yes I know miss but-" He tried to defend himself.
"No these people could have given this away to the government to get them out of a sticky situation and you know that." I had completely lost my temper now.
"Follow me Hartman." I said in a monotone voice getting up and pressing my hand against a sensitive part in the wall.
The wall parted revealing an elevator, I stepped inside motioning the victim to follow me. Placing my thumb against then a pad a keyboard appeared I typed in a code. The elevator buttons appeared and I pressed B2 and a camera identified my iris as mine so we started moving slowly downward.
"Why so much security?" Hart asked, obviously not acquainted to the measures of working with the big boys a girl had to take.
"You never can have enough." I smirked.
The elevator jerked to a stop and I grinned, "Open." The doors recognized my voice and opened up revealing a completely white room and a cup of water. I stepped into the room motioning for him to follow but quickly retracted, "Close."
My ride back to my office was quite peaceful despite the screams of the man, until they stopped. I chuckled; he must have gotten parched and taken a drink of that water. Bad plan. Yet, the record of Diana Walker will be clean.
I again intercomed my secretary, "Yes Marc, Gary won't be with us anymore a position is opened." Needless to say this is the last time I will strike a deal with a Westerner. "Oh and Marc darling would you open a position? Thanks!"
I checked my eyeliner and gold eye shadow, still perfectly in place I sighed straitening my leather jacket and put on the face of angel it was time to begin the game.
Business.
