Journey
Dean always drove. It was a law, like gravity or the laws of motion.
Both of these Dean was bound to, as was the sleek black impala speeding down the highway... as much as Dean beleived it was true about his 'baby', the car didn't actaully travel outside the laws of physics. Castiel glanced over to the hunter, he was humming along to Ramble On and tapping his fingers on the steering wheel, his other hand rested gently an Castiels knee. The window was rolled down halfway, letting the cool night air flow into the car and ruffling Deans short, dirty blond hair.
Castiel gazed in wonder; the hunter was indeed beautiful, with streetlamps illuminating his freckled, tanned skin in bursts of orange light, and reflecting in his bright green eyes.
Dean spun around in his chair to look directly at Cas, who blushed and looked down at his knees.
'Dude? You're doing the thing again,' he frowned as Cas turned pink. 'Not that I mind of course,' he said hurriedly, 'it's just... a bit... weird?'
Cas looked back up at him and smiled, 'Eyes on the road, Dean.'
Deans chuckled in his rough, low voice and squeezed Cas' knee, his eyes flicking back to the highway in frony of him. Three hours left to cross into South Dakota, then it would be a few more into Sioux Falls and to Bobby's. Castiel rested a hand over Deans and snuggled down into his seat, fiddling with his seatbelt. What if Bobby was angry or upset, he didn't want to cause any trouble.
His hand tightening must have alerted Dean of his discomfort, as Dean stroked his wrist reassuringly. 'Cas? It'll be fine, I promise,' he murmured as he slipped his hand into Castiels and rested their entwined fingers on his own knee.
Castiel's quiet thankyou was completely blocked out by a vomiting noise comign from the back seat. Cas glanced round to see Sam prodding his brother in the back of the head through the gap in the headrest.
'Could you guys, i don't know... not?'
