Roxas turned off the television. "Stupid movies. All those fantasies are the same. They get so boring after a while."
"Your just in a crappy mood because Riku stood you up last night." Axel sneered.
"Just shut up, Axel." Roxas threw the remote at him, walking out of the room.
Axel wasn't going to give up teasing him just because Roxas was walking to another room. "So… What did Riku have to do that was so much more important than your little date? Maybe it had something to do with Sora…?"
Roxas bit back tears. He wasn't going to let Axel win this time. He wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of yet another victory.
Axel could see the hurt in his face, and this time, for some odd reason, he thought that he had gone a tad to far. "Roxas…" He let out a little sigh.
Roxas turned so Axel couldn't see his face anymore. Quickly he crossed his arms. "I am not going to lose to you."
"Listen to yourself, your voice is shaking. Just come here." Axel tried to turn him so he could give him a hug.
"No. I have fallen for this before, and I'm not falling for it again. Just because you like it when other people suffer….." His voice was quivering even more. He took a few deep breaths.
"Roxas." Axel crossed his arms, waiting expectantly for a few seconds, before Roxas totally lost it and started bawling.
"Axel!! Why are you so mean!" Roxas yelled into his chest.
"Shh… I'm sure he wasn't with Sora."
"But what if he was?"
"So what if he was…you have m-" Axel was cut off by the front door swinging dramatically open.
"Roxas! I am so sorry I missed the date last night! Sora got into a car accident! I had to go see him in the hospital as soon as I heard!" Riku stole Roxas from Axel, Roxas with a bewildered 'should I be angry that he was with Sora or glad' face.
Axel was standing there feeling as lonely as he had ever felt, but he was still glad that Roxas was happy.
After they had all visited Sora in the hospital, Axel was the only one still left in the room, while Riku and Roxas… caught up on their date.
"Axel." Sora tried to get his attention.
"Huh?"
"You know, I'm glad you're here…" Sora was fiddling with the blanket and blushing madly.
It was then Axel realized- All that time he had spent chasing after Roxas, he never even glanced at Sora, but here he was, right in front of him.
He smiled. "I'm glad I'm here too."
