…
I felt like I had to write a New Year's fic.
Wtf IS it with me writing child-twins fics??? D: Or at least, ones that start out like that lol.
New Year's Kiss
"Come on, boys, hurry! The ball's about to drop!"
"Mom," the young twins sighed, "Isn't that a…commoner kind of thing to get all excited about?"
"You know, commoners are more interesting than you think. –Oh! Shh, shh! Here comes the countdown!"
They sighed, rolling their eyes. "I don't see what's so exciting about it. So it's a new year; what's the big deal?" the older one mumbled.
"You thought it was a big enough of a deal to make us stay up 'till midnight," the younger one yawned, rubbing his eyes.
"Y-yeah? Well…Oh hey, the ball's dropped!"
"Ah! Happy New Year's!" their mother exclaimed, and kissed each boy on his forehead.
"Moooooom!" they whined, "What was that for?"
"Hm? Oh, well it's a New Year's tradition. You're supposed to kiss your significant other when the ball drops, otherwise you'll have a year of loneliness. Your father's on a business trip, so we can bend the rules a little this year, okay?" she smiled, winking at her sons.
They blinked at her, then, "That's just weird. We're gonna go to bed now. Night."
"You won't think it's 'weird' in ten years when you're kissing your girlfriends. Then you'll thank me," she laughed.
"Ne, Hikaru, the ball's going to drop soon; do you want to watch?"
"Isn't that boring, Kaoru?" the older twin asked, "We stay up past midnight all the time, the only difference is that the year's changing along with the day. Not all that exciting."
"Please~ Hikaru? Come on, you don't even have to move; I'll just turn the TV on," Kaoru said, changing the station.
Hikaru sighed, "Whatever."
"Ten!"
"So. Did you make any New Year's Resolutions?"
"Nine!"
"I wouldn't call it a 'Resolution'…"
"Eight!"
"Ah."
"Seven!"
"Hey, Hikaru?"
"Six!"
"Yeah, Kaoru?"
"Five!"
"Remember when we were little?"
"Four!"
"Remember what?"
"Three!"
"That one New Year's?"
"Two!"
"Which one?"
"ONE!"
"The one where mom told us about this," Kaoru replied, turning, and kissed Hikaru on the lips. Before the older twin even realized what had happened, the younger had pulled away.
"Well," Hikaru said, "Now I understand why you were so excited." Suddenly, their phone rang. "…Probably Milord wanting to be the first to call and wish us a Happy New Year. Do you want to answer, or shall I?"
"Neither," Kaoru replied, turning the phone off, "Because if you think that's what I was 'excited' about, well, that was only the beginning."
"Oh? But the tradition only says that you're supposed to kiss your loved one," Hikaru smiled slyly, already beginning to unbutton his brother's shirt.
"Well, you know," Kaoru replied, doing the same, "I just don't want to take any chances. Wouldn't want to be lonely for this entire year, right?"
"Ah, I see, I see. Well then, I guess this is a sacrifice we'll have to make," Hikaru answered, and kissed Kaoru again as his fingers continued to un-do his shirt's buttons.
Yeah I left it off there :P Leave the rest to your own dirty imaginations lol.
Happy New Year's, everyone! Hope 2009 treats you well, and don't forget to kiss your loved one at the end out the countdown! ;D
