Sirius Eyes
By Tree of Willow Heights
A/N: I wrote this based on a prompt on Live Journal. It was only one word "Void" and I somehow found my way onto a ramble about Sirius's eyes. But, then again, everything reminds me of Sirius, so who could be surprised, right? Anyway, I hope you like it. I don't love it but I wrote it in about ten minutes so that's alright.
There are many types of eyes. Blue eyes, brown eyes, green eyes, gray eyes, red and yellow eyes (for cats). There are almond-shaped eyes, and round eyes, and tiny eyes, and slitty eyes. But when it all comes down to it, they are just eyes.
Sirius's eyes are not like other eyes. They are silver, not gray, silver. And their size is not something Remus has ever noticed. It doesn't really matter. No matter their size, they could not contain the emotions that seem to rage inside.
On some days they are clear and light eyes-happy days. On others they are blazing, ferocious eyes-angry days. On certain days they are clouded eyes-when Sirius thinks and wonders and dreams. And eventually they are misty and unclear eyes-during the confused days, when Sirius is not quite sure of how he feels and what he wants, and he is not sure if there is much point to wanting.
And then one day they are nothing eyes. Gray eyes that seem to feel nothing. Hopeless, tired eyes. That is when Remus first sees that they have lost, no matter what happens next.
Sirius has fallen into the void. And the void has no footholds.
