Disclaimer: I do not own any of Melanie Rawn's characters. If I did, I could die happy
This is a poem from the point of view of Pol's wife, Meiglan. I have no idea how this poem got into my head, since I think she's a weak, silly character . . . but here it is.
The strength of your solid prescence
The comfort your touch brings
The pain when you tell me that you can't stay
That you must leave me alone again
I know you have to go, my love
I'll try to be brave and strong
But the starr'd sky is so very dark
And the night here is so long
I'm not like the other women, you see
Though I pretend, inside I fear
There's so much around me to lean on
Yet I stumble without you here
The dragons sail past the castle you built
Our children look on with awe
As I crouch in a corner trembling
If I cry out, would you hear my call?
