Written for lilgenious's Procrastination challenge on The Dark Lord's Most Faithful Forum.
I ship Draco/Astoria and this story takes place when Astoria is in her fourth year and Draco is in his sixth year. Minerva McGonagall said that Draco was serving detention in her office during the attack of Katie Bell, so I thought that maybe he served detention with Astoria.
Astoria Greengrass never procrastinate. But yet here she was, sitting in the common room, staring at her Transfiguration essay about Cross-Species. In front of her was standing not other than the Slytherin Prince, Draco Malfoy. He seemed to be preoccupied about something. Astoria tried to concentrate on her essay but she couldn't think of anything else but him.
Poor Draco ...he really changed this year. He is so pale, he must be ill. I should probably focus on my essay, I bet he doesn't even know my name! thought Astoria.
" Greengrass, if you want me to help you with your assignment all you had to do was ask! " said Draco.
" I don't need your help, Malfoy!"
" Are you sure? You seem to have problems with that assignment. You have stared at that paper for 10 minutes. I counted" he said a bit amused.
" Well, it's hard to concentrate when someone is standing in front of you, doing nothing. Don't you have other places to go?" said Astoria, trying to sound annoyed, but failing miserably.
" I have, but I like to distract you! It's fun watching you procrastinate!"
" I'm not procrastinating! I'm just...not really interested on the subject!"
" Yeah, sure! Cross-Species is a easy subject. I think you can't concentrate because I'm too irresistible!" he smirked.
" Yeah, sure, you wish!"
" Sarcasm doesn't suit you, my dear!"
" What do you want?" Astoria asked.
" I want to corrupt you! Daphne told me you never got a detention so I'll like to change that! You don't want to be like that know-it-all Granger!"
" What makes you think that I won't write my essay?"
" Well, I have my metods to persuade you. I intend to invite you to go to Hogsmeade with me" said Draco.
" What?" Astoria was speechless.
" That's right, I haven't asked you properly. Astoria, would you like to go to Hogsmeade with me?"
" Yes!"
"Wake up, Astoria! Wake up!" called Astoria's sister,Daphne. She drew the curtains and the blazing light blinded Astoria. At that moment Astoria felt very annoyed.
" Why did you have to wake me up? I had an amazing dream!" Astoria protested.
" Yes, I know. You were mumbling in your sleep. You were saying things like essay, corrupt, date and you were moaning 'Draco'. It's creepy! Anyway, it's 9 o'clock and you have detention with McGonagall "said Daphne.
" Detention? I forget about that!"
" Your first detention...I'm so proud of you! I told you that stalking Malfoy won't help you doing your essay about Cross-Species!" said Daphne with sarcasm.
" I wasn't stalking him... on purpose! I couldn't concentrate because he was in the same room with me."
" Good luck explaining that to McGonagall".
" Daphne, you're not helping! I should probably go, I don't want to be late" said Astoria and she went to the dungeons for her detention.
"Come in, Miss Greengrass" said McGonagall.
"Good morning, professor"responded Astoria. She was really shocked to see that Draco was there too.
" Now I would like you to read the chapter on Cross-Species and make notes to be used in your essay, which has to be handed in by next week. Mr. Malfoy is here because he missed two Transfiguration homework assignments".
" Hello, Astoria" smirked Draco.
" OMG! He knows my name!" said Astoria to herself.
" Hello, Draco" she said with shyness.
Sometimes procrastination was a good thing...and spending two hours with Draco was worth it!
