Gifts
Aro wanted vampires with 'gifts.'
Aro wanted power.
She, poor little Sulpicia Gaillardia, had neither of these.
So when Aro chose her out of the thousands that would lay before him, she was more than shocked.
Her innocence was that of legends, pure and untouched. Her family was the legend, ruthless and unmerciful.
Aro and his legion were the only ones ever able to defeat them.
Left without a family, or a home, she had no choice but to accept his hand.
While on their wedding bed, she asked him, with a shyness in her newly red eyes,
"Why me?" she played absently with her long golden hair, "I don't have any gifts like the rest of them."
"Everyone," he smiled, lust in the shallow depths of his eyes, "Has gifts, my dear."
And with that, he crushed his lips to hers, and sealed her fate.
