Fic inspired by scene in "Wesenrein" 4x09

Rosalee turned under the covers, slowly as not to wake her sleeping fiance beside her. After a long day of wedding rehearsals, toasts, and keeping her sister

entertained, Rosalee was exhausted. And yet she could not seem to fall asleep. Her wedding day was tomorrow. A mixture of nervous worry and pure joy

welled up inside her. Smiling to herself, Rosalee remembered the way Monroe looked this afternoon when they were holding hands practicing their

ceremony, and tried to picture him again but wearing his suit. Her fantasy continued but behind Monroe she saw Nick wearing his dark sunglasses so that

none of her wedding guests could tell that he was a Grimm. With so many natural enemies in one room, it would be a little too perfect if the wedding went

off without a hitch. Something was bound to go wrong. Horribly wrong. Oh, but she just couldn't wait to marry the man she loved. Letting out an audible

sigh she tried to digest all of these thoughts and emotions.

Afraid she had woken her fiance, she remained still. Her efforts were pointless as Monroe turned to face her, his eyes open and awake. "I'm sorry. Did I wake

you?" Rosalee said turning her head to lock eyes with her fiance.

"Wasn't asleep," he replied. "Judging by that sigh you weren't either."

Rosalee chuckled. "No. I can't fall asleep. I'm too excited."

"Me too." Monroe playfully raised his eyebrows. "You think we should've followed that tradition of sleeping apart the night before our wedding."

Rosalee turned the rest of her body to face him so she could lay her hand on his arm. "Absolutely not. I don't want to spend one night without you, from

now til forever. Besides, we're not doing a lot those traditional wedding things."

"Are you sure?" Monroe asked. "Some say that this is bad luck. We have a Grimm in the wedding party and a guest list primarily comprised of Wesen. We

may need all the luck we can get."

Rosalee smiled and shook her head slightly. "Well, you've already seen my wedding dress, so we've already passed that point."

"Guess your right," Monroe shrugged. "Lucky for me. I get to sleep next to my beautiful bride tonight." Monroe wrapped his arm around Rosalee and she

shifted to cuddle up next to him.

Laying her head on his chest, she whispered. "I like it too." They laid there for moment just finding comfort in each others arms.

Rosalee finally said what was on her mind. "A lot could go wrong tomorrow."

"Maybe," Monroe said. "But a lot could go right." He gave her a little squeeze and continued, "This time tomorrow, we will be married."

Rosalee smiled. "And we'll go to sleep together every night just like this."

"Yes," Monroe said. "And we'll wake up together. And we'll eat breakfast together. And we'll go out together. And we'll help Nick solve crimes together."

"Oh yes," Rosalee chuckled. "We'll help Wesen together and concoct mixtures in the Spice Shop together."

Monroe sighed dreamily. "You know, for the rest of our lives we will be known as 'Monroe and Rosalee.' You know, not just Monroe. Or just Rosalee. But as

pair. People will see us and know we are together and always will be…as 'Monroe and Rosalee.'"

"Never one without the other." Rosalee liked that thought. It was at this moment that she realized what being married meant, at least for her. She was in love

with this man, and she wanted to be tied to him forever. So that nobody could look at her and not see Monroe as a huge part of her life. As she lay in

his arms, Rosalee dreamt about a future where she never felt alone.

"I don't ever want to be just Rosalee," she said. "I want us to forever be known as 'Monroe and Rosalee.'"

"We will be."
