It sits by my side -
Like any true friend
And makes sure I never am bored.
While reading of chambers,
Philospher's Stones,
Or perhaps a tale of the Dark Lord.

I open the pages -
And then gaze inside
Wonders will never yet cease.
I read of dementors,
Dogs with three heads,
And ghosts who are never at peace.

Sometimes I think I can
Hear Lily shout
Dying in love for her son.
Or maybe the cheer
That goes up from the crowd
When a Quidditch game's finally won.

Is my cat Crookshanks?
My dog Sirius Black?
Or is it just fictional books?
Why is it strange,
When I hop on a broomstick?
Why do I get all those weird looks?

Nevertheless,
As I close the book,
This world will always be dear.
A world where there's magic
There's love, and there's hope
A world that is absent of fear....

For those of you who are fans of Hermione's Decision - I'm afraid the next edition won't be out for a while because of school. In a few minutes spare time, I wrote this poem, and hope it will satisfy your need for Harry Potter fanfic for a while. All characters, references, and basically everything in this poem belongs to J.K. Rowling, but the words and rhymes came from my imagination.
