For Sars
She glanced up at him from across the table and rolled her eyes at the pensive expression across his face. The impromptu game on their regular table at the Waffle Haus was already starting to bore her but she liked spending time with Mason – who knew why.
"It's just scrabble don't have an aneurism, Mason."
He gave her one of his patented looks and went back to that weird level of concentration and staring at the letters in front of him.
George sighed and pressed her back against the seat and cocked her head to the side to stare at him intently. After at least five minutes, she was sure, Mason grinned like he'd just realized he could get high from playing this stupid game and laid his letters out on the board.
George eyed the word suspiciously and then looked back up at Mason.
"That is so not a word!"
"Is to."
"Is not."
"Is to!"
George leaned foreword and thumped Mason's forehead with her fingers.
"Mason, Saquid is not a word, what the hell!" she stared at him incredulously.
"I saw it on a commercial. Georgie, if popular culture says it's a word then it's a word and I get a triple word score, thank you very much."
She opened her mouth to argue but the grin on his face made her pause, it had been a while since she'd seen Mason smile like that and even Daisy couldn't get him do it lately. She sighed, leaned back in her seat, putting on her best 'I don't give a shit' look and took another sip of her coffee.
"Whatever."
