One moment, you've got the world in the palm of your hand
And the next, you're looking down, down, down
And all you can see is the bottomless pit
Where the sweet-smelling grass used to thrive.
Pretty sad.

I always tell others what to do,
Then turn around and do the opposite myself.
We are all examples in this world
Try to act accordingly.

How the situations have reversed.
She warned me then, and I warned her now.
We both were deaf to the cries of "Stop!"

No I guess not, just ironic.
History has repeated itself again.
We both should have seen the signs
Given to each other; I wonder if
She's alive.

Stupid, wasn't I?
I wonder if I'll ever see her again.
I'll try my best to seek her out,
But it just might be no use,
And what will I do then?
Just cry.

I was weak and now
It might have cost another life
Besides my own. I now see clearly
What it is I should've done:
Let her win.

It's my fault that she couldn't
Trust me when she needed me most.
Why did I have to get so greedy
And competitive? I guess I got what
I deserved.

She doesn't deserve to be punished
For my indiscretions.
