After I did the Ipod shuffle challenge I was still thinking about how CC used to smoke.

CC was so glad to have the day off, she'd been getting sick the last couple of days and a lovely day off was just what she needed. She wrapped a fuzzy blanket around her and stepped out on to her balcony with her cigarettes in hand. Chester joined her outside as she took a cig out and lit it. She'd always enjoyed smoking more than drinking, but lately she hasn't had enough time to really enjoy a smoke. CC doubted tomorrow she'd be able to have a smoke because she'd spend the whole day with Niles or at the Sheffields.

"CC?" She heard Niles come in and called her name, Chester ran inside to greet him.

"I am on the balcony!" CC called and took a drag.

"I thought you were gonna stop smoking." Niles scrunched his nose at the smell, once he'd found her chain smoking sexy and unique. But now that he actually admitted to himself that she was the one he loved, he was more worried about her health than how attractive the dirty habit was.

"I said I'd stop soon, not immediately." She shrugged and continued smoking.

"When will soon be?" He sat down next to her.

"I don't know, Niles. I've cutback how much I smoke AND drink, how much more can you want from me?" CC started to sound annoyed, sure she had strong feeling for the man, but it is her body and her life. If she wants to smoke and drink her whole life away than she should be able to.

"I just want whats best for you, okay?" He shook his head at her and went inside to feed Chester.

She had a little bit of her cigarette left and she was starting to get cold. The fact that he cared so much about her well being bugged her, none of the men she'd ever been with had cared so much about her simple well being. Niles was the first for a lot of weird things like that. He's too caring for her and she knew it, she wasn't the wife type. Females like her don't married kind, loving men, they married assholes who cheat on them with everything that moves.

CC finished the smoke and went inside, Niles was cleaning up the kitchen. She watched him put away dishes that she'd washed the night before and left on the drying rack, he wasn't like anyone else and although his feeling for her made her nervous she wanted him to always have those feeling toward her. He turned around and looked at CC, she was looking into her cigarette pack, probably counting the amount of fags in left before she'd have to get another pack.

"You really want me to stop?" She looked up at him.

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because they're bad for you and shorten your life, I want you to live forever." He smiled and she looked back down at her pack. In her mind they tried to frantically to come up with a come back to why she should smoke but suddenly it seemed like silly thing to have ever have even fought over.

"Then...Then I'll stop..."

"Soon?" He smirked, expecting her to do add soon as she always does when they discuss the subject of her smoking.

"Not soon, now." She strode over to the sink and put the remaining pack under the water, making sure that even if she was tempted to get them from the trash that she couldn't smoke them. Then she threw them in the trash.
