Chapter:1
He was in a state of mind when you don't know what to anticipate, your heart could be crumbled into a million pieces, would you be able to smile again? The not knowing, the wait, was the most difficult part, A place where you cannot mourn nor can you let relief take over your body. The thought again plagued his mind, was he over thinking again? Sure their love was strong enough to overcome something like that, hope was still there. And then came a wave of anger at himself, did he make a mistake that will haunt him for the rest of his life?
Between all these teeming emotions Leonard couldn't help but notice his current demeanor, he was devastated by just the thought of the inevitable, when has he become this desperate, or was he always like this?
His head knew the answer to the former question; he knew he did the right thing, when he sacrificed to make a decision that was conventionally his, he did not anticipate her to get down on one knee being tipsy and completely depressed, clinging on to the only good thing left in her life.
The anger towards her begin to overshadow his thought process, maybe because he wanted to blame someone, blame someone for the current dilemma he was in, this heart wrenching situation.
She loved him, he now knew well enough to not to question that, He couldn't believe that he loved someone so much that it terrified him to his very core but as they say, sometimes love is not enough, not enough to overcome the differences of opinion or priorities. The key to a healthy relationship is love, trust and respect. He was not emotionally stable enough to ignore the nagging little thought at the back of his mind, did she even respect him enough to build a future with him, take a step forward, to tie the knot? He knew he did.
He will forever remember the time when he first saw her. Once in your life, if you are very lucky, you will meet the person who divides it to the time before you met her and the time after. His time with her was the happiest he'd ever been in his life and he was going to enjoy every second of it.
Maybe he needed to save him from himself, refrain from falling even deeper, to the point of no return. On the reasons of stop seeing her he had; one, high likelihood of a broken heart. Two, he was on the verge of going insane. Three, fourteen piece matched set of Victoria's secret emotional baggage. Four, he has received rejection from her a thousand times, for god's sake. Reasons to keep seeing her? He was completely in love with her. Whether they were together or apart, she'll always be the women of his life.
But he knew that the sudden crash, a Band-Aid rip was better than the slow poisoning. Because in the end it all came to that.
Was it all worth it?
